Saku with shootout winner!

A big win for Nos Glorieux last night over a very good Carolina team as the Habs welcome back AK46 :D

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=254090&lid=sublink03&lpos=headlines_nhl

Meanwhile, the shitty Toronto Maple Craps lose at home to a struggling Tampa team who came into last night's game with only one win and a league worst goals for of 1.75

There was also a classy pre game ceremony at last night's Habs game honouring past coaches :)

You won't see anything like that in Toronto where that sad sack franchise has no past worth celebrating :(

Great news!! However, where would the Habs find cap room for Kovalchuk? They're pretty much capped out & i doubt Atlanta would want to take a player with a similar salary in return since they've been struggling at the box office & need to lower costs. I'm surprised the Leafs would make an attempt to acquire Kovalchuk, but they do have the cap space available & have been playing very good hockey so far this season. But it would also likely mean goodbye to Mats Sundin.

I'm still curious why Gainey would want to mess with his team's chemistry. This is a team which is looking like it has a good chance of going far in the playoffs next spring. Kovalchuk would be a better acquistion than Gaborik, a cancer on any team.

A win is a win. I think the Canadians took the Islanders lightly and fortunately we were able to come back. Both Canadian teams played great third periods against NY teams. Go Habs Go and Go Canada!

Alot of the time these are nothing more then rumours, even when it appears on news papers and websites.

I dont think Gainey is looking for any type of acquisitions, he is free to show an interest for a player which is a smart thing to do when your team is 8-1-1 (we are contenders for the cup which means players will want to play with us)

If something where to happen it would be only near trade dead line and if the chemistry and team results require a change. So far so good!!!!

Bruins Rookie Blake Wheeler scored his first career Hat Trick tonight...
The B's have five wins in their last six games.

Blake Wheeler was a first round pick of Phoenix. Kind of reminds of a similar situation with Brad Boyes, a former Toronto Maple Shits first round pick but they let him get away for nothing :D (scored 43 goals last year for the Blues!). Speaking of the Toronto Maple Turds - they've lost 3 straight! and find themselves in the basement of the NE Division :D

You know what they say - it must be fall, the Leafs are dropping

I predict that come season's end, that Canada's team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, will have a better record than the Mtl Canadiens.

Have you jumped off the bandwagon yet? Based on your past history it doesn't usually take you very long.

I don't recall making such a prediction. I'll be in attendance the next time these two legendary franchises meet up & i'll guarantee a win by the good guys....those loveable Maple Leafs, of course. ;)

No surprise that you don't recall, even though everyone else does. It's called selective memory and it's practised mainly by bandwagon jumpers and exceptionally poor prognosticators. You probably DO recall that last glorious victory by your beloved leafs however...even though it was all the way back in 19fucking67!

The Leafs have been surprising this year and have played over their heads. But the Habs will be smarting from last night. 4-2 Habs

BIGGEST problem with the Habs the last couple of years is not always playing 60 minutes. think about it. they played 20or 25 minutes of quality hockey and won. they out shot the Isles 16-4 in the 3rd and scored 4 even strength goals. This is why Detroit would beat them The Wings play 60 minutes almost every night, the Habs not always. They have the talent to crush nearly every team and they don't. A strong 60 minute effort every night would ensure that.

Terrible all around game for the Canadians. Badly played, no defensive plan whatsoever, no discipline and sad to say badly coached. Having said that, this is the only game that was badly coached this season. Toronto tried to play Phili's sort of game that killed the Canadians and Price during last year's playoffs and the coaching staff did nothing to prevent it! They were hitting Price and Grabovski was left to play as he wished.

Dear Fellow Habs Fan,

I dont agree with you at all ! The Canadiens arrived at 2am. Therefore it was imperative for them to Hit the smaller Leafs right away !

The anology of the last two games is much simplier.

In last night's game Jaroslav Halak got outplayed by Mason and tonight
Price by Toskala.
