Gaby,

From what I read, that Rangers statement didn't come from the fired Gorton or Davidson. It came from James Dolan himself. Usually such over the top statements can't be released without approval from the top of the ladder in the organization. In this case it came from very the top of the ladder, and the statement itself sounds like something Dolan would release.

Do not feel too sorry for Dolan. He has more money than the owner of your Habs, Molson, and he will pay the $250,000. I think his standing with the players and front office went up with that statement and it will be worth the payment. Dolan has generally not meddled with the Rangers as much as he has with the Knicks in the past, but in this case the meddling was appreciated and quite frankly appropriate, and the fine was worth it I think. He said the truth. And it needed to be said.

I’m not very knowledgeable in hockey to know where Torts stands amongst his peers as far as his coaching abilities are concerned, but I always loved his passion.... anyways I think it’s great that he was allowed to finish the season ( mutual parting) without being fired or let go ,,, pretty confident he will resurface somewhere else .... cant wait for playoff hockey to start soon

Look behind you.
Since I am an Oiler fan I predict the Leafs out in the first round and the Oilers to win the North division and then get beat by an American team. You heard it here first.

I got myself a ticket for the Leafs at high preseason odds 19/1 so if they go deep I’ll make plenty of coin and also get the opportunity to root for a Canadian team that’s got a legitimate shot at the cup ,,, everyone knows they got talent but somehow seem to be lacking in grit come playoffs , goaltending is also suspect...

I also picked the Islanders preseason for a bunch but unfortunately have looked very mediocre since that trade deadline ... I also like Carolina , Vegas and Colorado but honestly who doesn’t ...

Tampa Bay Starts 3 Black Forwards:
It's nice to see that TB is developing its young black players but the best black player on the ice for this game was Anthony Duclair of Florida. And Duclair and Florida ended up winning this Battle of the State of Florida, 4-0.

Excellent article by ESPN on up and coming coaches likely to be hired as NHL head coaches soon. Note that fired Habs coach Kirk Muller is prominent on this list:

T.BAY big big win 6-2 BUT KUCHEROV left the game in the third after a vicious--stupid slashing from DUCLAIR....should b suspended.....KUCHEROV had a 4pts game.....they need him back asap.....and later SERGACHEV left the game also---très très ébranlé--- after
a solid hit by HORNQUIST.....not too much love in this FLORIDA battle...it does not look good for those 2 players......avec l'incident de TAVARES it's never easy to watch de semblables séquences.....et cela nous rappelle à quel point chaque game est dangereuse for the palyers qui jouent toujours avec fougue et intensité.
