Because they cheat on their tests!30/32 teams have players in Covid-19 protocol.....only the WILDS and CANUCKS had none....yet....
Ovechkin now has 24 goals in 33 games to tie for league lead with Draisatl. Has anyone ever led the NHL in goals at age 36? Ovechkin also has 26 assists and is just 2 assists behind McDavid for the league lead with 50 points to McDavid's 52.
The last time Maurice "Rocket" Richard led the NHL in goals was at age 33 with 38 goals in 67 games.
Mario Lemieux last led the NHL goals at age 30 when he had 69 goals and 161 points. He did have a 28 goal season at age 37.
Wayne Gretzky led the NHL in points for the last time at age 33, but never had a 40 goal season after his age 30 season.
So what Ovechkin is doing is unprecedented. This is not a sport where players north of 35 put up numbers that are at or near the league lead.

Does anybody have an idea why the line in the NYR-Edmonton game tonight has changed from Edmonton being a dog to a 1.28 favorite?
Shesterkin's performances didnt come up as a big surprise to me, we have seen these russian goalies rising to the top in the past 10 years or so. But Campbell's season is a surprise, didnt see it coming.
