The blue shirts where brillant in the last 2 games, after game #5, I was very skeptical at how they could get around the Cane's center ice locking system. They did it with their speed, (finally getting their skates back), skills and, sometimes, nasty grit and roughness, Trouba is definately among the nhl vicious guy, too many hits to the head. Can't forget to mention their great defense and, of course, Shesterkin.

Looks like we could get a great show for the conference final.

You forgot Jacob Trouba with his hit to the head of Jarvis.
He did the same to Sidney Crosby in the first round.
He is a specialist in dangerous hits.
I don't believe Trouba was penalized for either hit. They were legal. He reminds me of Scott Stevens of the New Jersey Devils. Lots of big hits. Do you remember this? This was a legal hit and Lindros was to blame for skating erect with his head up, which he had been coached not to do:
Similarly Gallant blamed Crosby for his own injury:

Rangers coach Gerard Gallant said he wasn't concerned that Trouba would be suspended.

"As great a player as Sid is, he does a lot of twisting and turning and spinning away from guys," Gallant said. "Troubs went to play the puck, and his elbow got up a little high on him. There was no intent. He wasn't trying to hurt anybody. Wasn't running people through the glass, that's for sure."

Jarvis hit was straight on, legal hit. No penalty.

Trouba did get called for high sticking on an unrelated play. However replay show the stick just kind of accidentally came up on him before contact. It probably could have been let go. I definitely would not have blown the whistle on it.

So, you prefer to see best players injured than to see them making a very good show.
You must have loved the Broad Street Bullies (Philadelphia Flyers) of 1974 and 1975.
Montreal Canadians had to put on ice 2 or 3 goons for their American League in a pre-seaon game to put an end to that kind of brutal hockey.
I Remember one player name : Sean Shanahan. Montreal team won all the fights in that game and could play hockey in the regular games and win the Stanley Cup against the same Flyers.

You are putting words in my mouth, I stated the facts which are no penalties were called on those hits, and the players who got hit were at fault for their own injuries, as Gerard Gallant explained.

In hockey you need to pay attention to where you are skating and how you are skating to get there. If not, you pay the price, like Lindros did in the video above. Lindros paid a big price, and he suffered other injuries like that one due to his very upright, head down skating style making him prone to concussions and head hits. That is the nature of the sport. You guys should stop blaming Trouba, who was just doing his job, and start blaming the players who did not properly brace themselves and defend the hit. Legal hits will always look worse than they are when the recipient is caught unaware/unprepared or twisting, but that does not change the nature of the hit from legal to not legal.

Spectactular players but not so spectacular goalies, awful goaltending on both sides. The exact opposite of what is coming up in the eastern conference.

Unlikely. Both team have excellent offensive ( Tampa still the best to me ), but their goalie are not top level. So, I do think we will still have a high scoring match.

( But, who knows? Both goalies could have a good game tonight ( or, just better than last one ))

I really should follow more the hockey playoffs.

Shesterkin and Vasilevskiiy are the two best goalies in the world and they will be on the ice against each other tonight. I don't know which goalies you are talking about in the post above.

Mike Smith from Edmonton and Darcy Kuemper from AVS.

But, I just realize they are playing tomorrow, not tonight.

So, my apology.
( Of course, Vasilevsky and Shesterkin are the best right now. Would never deny that )

Good starting game for NYR, very important win since we know TB will come back less rusty and surely with better legs. Rangers, as the underdogs of all tems left in the playoffs are giving a heck of a show. I love watching all these emerging talents, the sky is definately blue in the big apple.

This first game doesn't count....
Remember game 1 between the Leafs and the Lightning ...
Toronto won 5-0... We know the rest of the story! :)

Morale of the playoffs so far ... lose game 1 , keep your focus and energy for later!

It still counts as a victory, of course the Bolts will come back strong, but so far the Blue shirts won, can't take it away from them. I also think Gallant is able to adapt to any situations Cooper will throw, it will be a very interesting game #2.

Let's hope Kassian and Evander Kane will not injure the best AVS players with illegal hits.
I wish AVS would have a Lucic kind of player to make them pay or injure Oilers best players in return.
