I don't believe Trouba was penalized for either hit. They were legal. He reminds me of Scott Stevens of the New Jersey Devils. Lots of big hits. Do you remember this? This was a legal hit and Lindros was to blame for skating erect with his head up, which he had been coached not to do:You forgot Jacob Trouba with his hit to the head of Jarvis.
He did the same to Sidney Crosby in the first round.
He is a specialist in dangerous hits.
Rangers coach Gerard Gallant said he wasn't concerned that Trouba would be suspended.
"As great a player as Sid is, he does a lot of twisting and turning and spinning away from guys," Gallant said. "Troubs went to play the puck, and his elbow got up a little high on him. There was no intent. He wasn't trying to hurt anybody. Wasn't running people through the glass, that's for sure."
Jarvis hit was straight on, legal hit. No penalty.
Trouba did get called for high sticking on an unrelated play. However replay show the stick just kind of accidentally came up on him before contact. It probably could have been let go. I definitely would not have blown the whistle on it.
