Thanks for the clarity; didn't know that. I was just expressing from XO/Forever/Sensation perspective as those were the ones I had bookings with last 3 years. Haven't booked Euphoria since 2021 and to your point back then payment at conclusion not upfront.
Upfront payment raises risk of walking into a sting (coming from a US perspective).

By allegedly hiring an undercover agent as an escort they ``procured a person to offer sexual services", which in all likelihood are terms of employment that were discussed in the "job interview"

I don’t think anyone in their right mind would want to engage in intimacy with a minor. IMO it is somehow abusive.
Personally I don’t feel comfortable seeing a provider who is at least in her mid to late 20s.
If I remember correctly, having to pay 100$ for cancelling the day and 80$ for each client that was booked can add up to a big chunk. It is coercive to enforce those cancellation fee. As a John, I want a provider to be there because she wants to work not because she has to pay a huge cancellation fee if she doesn’t show up.
Xo was voted as the best agency in Montreal many years in a row and it is shocking how they operate behind closed doors. It makes me wonder if other establishment also operate in similar ways. From now on, booking with indies will hurt my wallet but at least I have peace of mind. I have a few regulars from eupjoria and forever that I will miss but it is what it is

I don’t know if you were charging them or when it was but the general age of consent is 16 in Canada so assuming they had not coerced you, paid you or been an authority figure to you that sex would have been legal.
There could have been reputational/karma/ relationship issues from getting caught with you though.
There are special rules for close in age below 16 but they are not relevant to the Merb crowd. Paid sex with minors is abhorrent and we should all collaborate for this not to happen.

Completely agree. Now it is greed. Showing up late/cancellations should have been cost of doing business. If she cancels/late multiple times, she is off the roster.
Allegedly a top agency still charges a set fee for cancelling after the schedule has been posted as well as a fee per client if she has bookings already
I think that's LC's whole point.
With all the praise, bells and whistles before, now the reality and behind the scene has came to light.
In the corporate world they sometimes send you home if you’re late or will deduct the missing hours from your pay but no extra fee from out of your pocket
Then illegal if they were aware or should have been aware.
Statute of limitations (no idea how long it is) might apply to these instances if it was long ago
It's also that life happens. A lot of women are in this business because it's flexible. Many sex workers I know have to stop working for some periods of time, because they have chronic health problems, or they get burned out. If a girl is coerced to work when she's sick, possibly even sick with an STI, or in a really bad mental state that could push her to the edge, what will happen?
I think the point is that a lot of men do not care to check if the girls are minors. Their fantasy is ''teen girl''. One client told me once that he never hired girls under 20 because he knew that really often 18 year olds were actually underage and being advertised as ''legal'', and it was almost like an open secret or something people just want to push out of their minds. Teenage girls sometimes choose to work for places like this for various reasons even without a pimp being present.. they are trying to make money to leave an abusive home.. they are having emotional problems, etc. it's up to the adults to make sure no exploitation is happening.
The law was broken because they were making money from the sexual services that other people were offering. that's illegal in Canada.
It’s criminal to receive money, make a financial gain from others’ prostitution. Meaning I can have my own money from my own sex work, but my friend can’t give me a cut and no one can receive a cut from my work. I am tired at the moment, not sure I am explaining this right?
Agencies are illegal but as long as there are no drugs, minors, arms, violence, they should be left alone (in theory). They crossed the line and got caught.

- Having benefited from a financial advantage that they knew came from an offence/criminal activity.
- Having caused/induced a person to offer sexual services in exchange for payment / consideration.
- Having advertised sexual services.
