Coming to town next week. Looking for some fun and entertainment in the evenings aside from our usual hobbies. Any recommendations for lounges, bars and some nice dance clubs in downtown montreal and old montreal area. I'm in my 30's for reference and prefer a place with lots of young and good looking crowd, TIA

Bars to visit as single man?
Visiting Montreal again - which is certainly my favourite place to hobby. However I haven't been able to lock down a good bar to find single women to pick up for the night. I'm easy in terms of atmosphere (ie. I can go to a casual place and dress down or somewhere nicer in a suit).
Any suggestions?

I believe only sitting bars are accessible and requires masking while circulating in the establishment.

I hope it could relax a bit with the vaccinal passport if things hold down for the next 1-2 months. Wishful thinking? Maybe.
Was downtown yesterday night and on Ste-Catherine West was great to see again people people people all over the place......de toute beauté de voir la ville revivre....and in this large crowd many were wearing masks 
...and saw many YOUNG peoples
waiting in line entering restaurants with masks....a beautiful evening dans la Cité..... finally une vie débordante et festive....wow....presque normale....lol.

They did before they implemented the indoor smoking ban 15 years ago.
The scene has not been the same since. Plus it seems like the younger generation doesn't go to bars as much as we did in the 80's and 90's.
During those very odd times when I would venture out pre Covid it seemed like a lame scene compared to what it was back in the day on Crescent St.
Yes I am too old now and out of the loop but it seems like even the younger guys aren't getting that much action.
I heard the Old Port is where it's happening now.
I beg to differ!
They party more than the Crescent days... They just don't party on Crescent! The new generation is mostly in the Old Port these days and let me tell you, ALL the bars are FULL capacity these days!
Hard to argue with a massage parlour.
Yet I would be curious to hear what actual younger guys have to say about this.

I wasn't trying to debate anything. I work with 20 somethings for the past 15 years and see the trends. And in the last few years what you mostly see is Old Port with all its emerging clubs and lots of house parties where they rent large apartments through air bnb or chalets up north and throw huge parties. The Crescent days are over but i cherish amazing memories from them!
