Canadian Soccer Staff Kicked Out of Olympics For Cheating:
Since when were drones allowed at the Olympics to observe other teams practice? The coach was forced to apologize, but should not have allowed this to happen. Coaches need to control the behavior of their staff!!!!!!!

This is way too stupid to have merit. Just a lot of hype for no reason. Canada will win over New Zealand because they are a much better team.
First off almost every game a national team plays is televised and recorded and can be seen and studied by all teams and coaches how is videotaping a practice going to make such a huge difference.
There is not much advantage to be had seeing practices other than maybe seeing set plays like corner kicks and free kicks within close range to goal or penalty kicks being practised and 99 times out of 100 what they practice doesn’t work out the same because the kick is too, short too long, the player is in an off side position etc….

You think watching Messi or Ronaldo at practice is such a huge advantage, these guys have a million moves and react to the flow of the game and the circumstances, same is true with the best of the women players.

They could have watched every second of Spain’s practices and what they would have learned is that they were by far the best team at the Euros and would likely win, and win they did. They showed that every game they played didn’t need to spy on their practices.

The US Women's soccer team did not need drone surveillance in order to beat Zambia. Check out this first goal of the Olympics by Trinity Rodman on a Trin-A-Spin. She is certainly a better offensive player than her father was in the NBA, although he is probably one of the 5 best defensive players in NBA history (click Watch on Youtube link in below video).
Correct me if I am wrong but the Zambian goalie made a very reckless gamble that she would get to that ball before Rodman did. Who did she think she was?

Canadian Soccer Coach Removed; Likely Knew of Drone Surveillance
Obviously, Canada thought they needed to perform drone surveillance on New Zealand in order to defeat New Zealand, instead of relying on their talent to do so. This report also indicates that the Canadian drone use has been going on for some time and includes the 2020 Olympic tournament. This type of needless cheating is sad/pathetic. Rely on your talent to win!!!!!! Or not!!!!!

One of the announcers in that ESPN video was calling for Canada to be disqualified and removed from the tournament. I do think this needs to happen, as a message needs to be sent that cheating and a lack of sportsmanship is not acceptable in Olympic competition.

Canadian Olympic Team Staffer Given Suspended Prison Sentence!
Turns out he was the drone pilot and a Canadian spy. The French police were livid about drones secretly being flown around their airspace with all the other security issues going on right now.

I think there’s a lot of hypocrisy going on here. This is soccer, after all. No other sport comes close to it when ot comes to corruption. It’s a dirty sport that has been shamed over the years by betting scandal after betting scandal. I’ve long suspected that there is some form of cheating going on whenever there’s a major soccer competition going on. This is soccer, after all. Cheating & corruption have for decades been linked to soccer. Every time there’s talk about the World Cup we always end up finding out that it’s bribes galore going on until the chosen host is selected….no different than the Olympics! Actually it’s worse with soccer! Yes the drone thing is an embarrassment for Canadian soccer. But it’s more than likely that other countries & soccer teams have regularly done similar or worse things over the years & more than likely continue doing it today & will continue doing so until they get caught.

The problem is what were they thinking flying drones around the Olympic Village where security is tighter than a drum. To me it's beyond stupid and thoughtless to create this type of a situation and I completely understand French police and prosecutors going off the rails. The Olympics are possibly a target of terrorist drones and this is the last thing the French LE and security want to be dealing with. Whether soccer is a corrupt sport is irrelevant to the thoughtlessness of this behavior in a high security environment. Also, it's expected that all nations conduct themselves with sportsmanship and honor which is why the Russian doping scandals resulted in so many of their athletes being DQ'd. I am very surprised Canada's team wasn't banned from the competition.

So what you are saying is other countries are cheating, so it's permissible for Canada to do it, as the cheating cancels out and is a wash?

Well, by that logic, we should let Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens into Baseball's Hall of Fame, because after all, they were hitting/pitching against juiced pitchers and batters.

Or maybe we should give Ben Johnson his gold medal back, because the guys he raced also doped, so its a wash, right? By this logic we should just throw our hands up in the air, have no rules at all, and let everyone do whatever they want and win by ANY MEANS NECESSARY. And by God if they happen to be better cheaters than their opponents, then God's Glory to them!

Nadal faces Djoker in Olympics Second Round:
You would tend to favor Djoker based on recent results, but Nadal is exceptionally dangerous on the clay courts of Roland Garros, where he has won 14 French Opens.

FIFA Bans Canadian Coach 1 Year, Docks Canadians 6 Points, and Fines Canadian Federation:
This 6 point docking is going to make it very difficult for the Canadians to medal. I am curious as to why they chose this penalty rather than an outright ban. I am guessing it's because competition already started and it would tend to penalize the Canadian opponents as much as Canada. So they decided to make them lame ducks instead. Said FIFA:

"The officials were each found responsible for offensive behavior and violation of the principles of fair play," the statement continued.
