I'm not sure what shelter in place means?
I would not run, i would get a weapon and fight.

To find a room/office, somewhere to hide, until the attack is over...

i'd like to fight too. several problems in this case.

1. terrorists cordinate and set off bombs within minutes of each other. No time to get a gun.

2. finding targets. see number 1. you are more likely to shoot innocent people.

3. becoming a target. nervous police probably shoot you. lucky if they only disarm you. they don't want amateurs getting in the way.

4. people panicking makes knowing what to do hard. chaos confusion fear. untrained vigilantes make things worse.

I'd get as far away as I can first. find a place for cover if I can't get a quick exit safely.

You don't know what you would do until it actually happens.
Obviously you should fight, and you can try to convince yourself that you would fight in this situation, that you are hypothetically brave,
but in reality but you might be paralyzed by fear or overcome by the instinct to run away.

However I must point out that parisians are much less brave than the average bear.
Their attitude to crime in general is to look the other way, wait it out, and hope they won't be the next victim.
If this happened in another country, somebody might have jumped on the attacker(s) when they were reloading.

HarleyMan, you are making the assumption that you can have a gun.
That is not the case. In Paris, you don't have a gun unless you're one of the criminals.

not at all. i know that well. i was going by the presumption of ricky bonds saying he'd get a gun. i presumed he and others were talking about what theyd do wherever they are.

parisians are also as brave as anyone.

your first part was correct. people will talk like heroes on this website with no idea what it's like. no idea what theyd do, fight or wet themsleves. ive read how trained soldiers hide or throw away their weapons and run.

ive got guns. good ones. would i be helping to grab them and run into something like this. no. police would see me as a problem.

If bombs or gunfire went off of course I would hide to protect myself ( no weapons, what can you do, I am not McGiver )
If we were invaded I have a few friends with large weapon caches and would visit them.
