^^totally don’t agree with that statement

There are situations when people want to be with you because of $$, and sometimes because they really want to be with you

I think the phrase one way or another we all pay for sex is fairly accurate. It's not necessarily money that we pay with. Time, effort, comunication, all of that great relationship stuff is a way of "paying" for sex. Although, I've definitely had my share of fuck buddies that were for the most part "free" of charge. But I still had to put in the time and effort to make it happen, so it did cost something I guess.

Around the corner
One way or another , we all pay for sex
I keep repeating this.
There are plenty of gorgeous women who are not gold diggers and enjoy sex.
Of course many posters on an escort review board were by passed by these elusive ladies.
Putting in time and effort is well worth it with these women, if you consider that some sort of payment then I guess we do all pay for sex but then so do they.

I think the percentage was about 10%, 10 years ago... where 99% of clients were in their 50s+
this hobby has been flooded with new young clients, so im sure it has increased
i would guess 20%

However if i factor in all the providers that are all available in montreal, they are all getting clients some way or another. So I think it could be much more

I work in the financial district in anti-fraud. I had a Managing Partner approach me and ask me if i can investigate into a fellow partner who he has suspicions of selling firm secrets. I asked him what clues he had that he was selling secrets. He replied that the Partner was traveling the world, and he noticed that all his destinations were where the headquarters of our competitors were located. After accessing all his emails and texts, I discovered that he wasn’t selling firm confidential information but actually touring the world and booking very high end escorts. I honestly think I am the only one who would have deducted this because I recognized the acronyms, anybody else would have glanced over it. I cleared his name. Managing partner asks me how i knew he was innocent, and i told him that he would prefer not to know which he agreed to. 2 weeks later he comes to me again and says “you gotta tell me what he’s doing, im still anxious”. I told him the truth and instantly says “fuck i wish i didn’t know... you were right” awkwardly walks away while i lol’d

So regarding hobbiests recognizing other hobbiests. That is not true for many cases. Maybe dawgs can recognize other dawgs. During the GG, VIP parties, I got to meet a looot of other clients. I first noticed the spectrum of people was very very wide. All ages, all sizes, all races, all different types of personalities. This is actually how iggy sold me to get me to show up because I was originally too shy to meet the other Johns. I highly doubt any of you would label me as a hobbiests on the street.

When im walking downtown super late at night. You can’t ignore the lineups at Nuru Massage and O’Paris.... they have huge lineups, just like Schwartz during rush time. I consider them semi-hobbiests but hobbiests nonetheless just clients who havent taken the full leap into it.

Millennials are more accepting of this and more girls are open to working in it, thanks to the fast-pace lifestyle they (we) grew up with and feminism movement going on, fast money is the way to go. Guys have more accessibility on the internet to search what fancies them, giving them more chances to stumble upon the escort world... only takes 1 really nice picture to get them to try. 1 good experience to make them addicted

so if i had to answer OP’s question it would be “more than you think”

Oh man. Was this me? If your business was in or near a hobby locality or I could make a layover in a hobby local you got great service from me. If there was a symposium or convention in a hobby locality I made a case to go.

I discovered Montreal by speaking at a symposium there. I bombed but I did better with two great encounters with SPs and I loved the Nudey bars!!!! That was the spring Before 9/11.

At the same conference I was at, a speaker got up on the podium and the dancers glitter (anyone remember when dancers doused themselves with glitter?) was flashing in the lights every time he moved around. I know what he was doing in his free time.

Yea, still would have to disagree. Time investment vs compensation with money are two different things. I don’t see the similarity whatsoever between the “relationship” stuff and giving someone money. To me there’s a clear difference, but to each their own.

This was a long post. I had difficulty maintaining concentration and now am jonzing for NY style Pizza.

80 % of girls are also into the top 20% of guys like flyingby and Mr. P! It goes both ways. There is the presence of a common ground where the majority in that lot find those individuals who may not be in that top 20% but yet for one reason or another you will hear “he or she does it for me”. Hence a better phrase, there’s enough pie for everyone

20%. are we talking paying for sex regulary or multiple times? Or are we including paying for sex once or twice?

I agree that the internet had a huge impact on the women who got into sex work and the men who bought sex. Discretion. Not having to expose yourself in public and having the time to select or even research before the meeting removes a lot of risk for both parties.

I would say even for those who only tried once or twice.

Found this 2011 study online from an org called ProCon. They estimate U.S. % to be between 15 and 20%. Very similar to what many in this thread estimated. Funny that the % in the U.K. is so low.

A different U.S. study from 2016. Seems pretty consistent with previous thoughts. Interesting that the 30 -44 group is higher than the older age groups. Maybe the advances of technology make it easier or maybe the stigma is decreasing? What's the story with the 2% of males who don't know if they have paid for sex? Too much alcohol that night?
