Great game by the Penguins!!!

If it weren't for Carey Price & a bit of luck, the Penguins could have easily won this game 6-1. But the hockey gods spoke & the Pens prevailed in overtime!!!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumb:

I do soooooooooooooooo much agree :thumb:

Congrats Panthere, on this night the Good Guys Won!

It is a absolute Joy to watch #87 play.

Sidney Crosby will once again miss the all-star game this weekend due to an injury. I didn't know this until now, but Crosby has only played in one all-star game since he's entered the NHL. He played in his first-eligible all-star game, and missed the rest of them for various reasons.

I have a feeling management is behind both his and Malkins absence whether anyone admits to it or not. Also who is to say the 2 just want some free time off to re-energise? They probablly both broke a finger nail or toenail since all the teams ever say is upper or lower body injury anyway lol. The allstar game is the worst in all of sports, or should I say tied for the worst with the nfl so who really cares besides the 16k in attendence that is?

I believe both are legitimately injured. Malkin actually missed the last game they played, and Crosby is expected to miss at least one game when the season resumes. Crosby has only attended 1 out of 10 all-star games, as i mentionned previously. But to be fair, he's had a ton of injuries to deal with during his young career.

Many experts & media people say that players owe the league & its sponsors their presence at the all-star game. They say that players want to be equal partners with the owners in the collective bargaining agreement. So they need to do their part also in order to sell the game.

However, most former players i've seen say that if it was up to them, they'd skip it and enjoy the time off. I have to agree with them. The season is already too long and they play way too many games. Most of the players play with injuries in one form or another throughout the season and their bodies need to rest. Kudos to Phil Kessel for attending the all-star weekend considering how his season has been going in Toronto. I'm sure he'd rather be home with his family or somewhere else relaxing & enjoing the time away from the NHL-grind right now. But the classy guy that he is, he answered the call & is spending the weekend in Columbus.

I heard on radio yesterday that Michel Therrien preferred to see Carey Price skip the all-star game. But Price insisted on playing in their last game & then head to Columbus for the weekend.

The pundits also mentionned that the best thing to happen to the habs & PK Subban was that he not be named to the team. He hasn't got off to a good start this season & the rest during the all-star break can only be beneficial.

Same thing for other stars who decided to skip the game. Too many games, too much parity, not enough time to rest & heal their bodies. So they must do it at the best opportunity possible, which is now.

And if the league is pissed off and wants more stars to attend, well then stop holding these games in places like Columbus where there's nothing for them to do & where the weather is crappy.

I did saw a bite of the all star yesterday...Was not that bad but i didnt get in to it that much for me!!!...I love the save Fleury made at the beginning..i dont remember against who?? But damn he did almost the split!!! Also it is a scary thing cause players or goaly could get themself to much of showing themself off and by that they could injured themself for the rest of the season....Just hope that nothing bad did happen...And btw that Kessel is cool to see play on couple of shot that i saw...But overall was not amaze by the games for ME.

All i saw was Kessel beat Sequin one on one in the fastest skater competition. Was there something else he was in? I was too busy watching the sexy Eugenie Bouchard win her match.

Hope you feel better and are back on your feet soon mon ami.

Seems like the NHL try to punish Crosby for not playing the ALL STAR games....for one match...but at least seems he doesnt feel well grrrr...So it is a good thing that he still was missing the game anyway

Crosby was given an injection to treat the injury, which forced him to miss this weekend’s All-Star festivities. An NHL rule stipulates that any player that misses the weekend will have to miss his team’s first game following the break. However, Crosby would have missed tonight’s game against Winnipeg regardless due to the injection.

Just hope to kick Winnipeg ass anyway tonight :thumb:

Is it me or does anyone else find it strange the best player in the last 10 years (or so) has only played one all star game in his career? Ok, we haven't had all star games every year but still!

Great game by a really good team with two major players injured. Kris Letang took the slack with their absents and did he ever: 5 assists wow.

On a funny note, did you read that the organization had to pull back the program guide because of a spelling error.

It was Sidney Crosby bobble-head night and the program misspelled Sidney Crosby name to read Sindey Crosby.

Lucky, they caught it time and remove it. Great game

Goc was a guy that was defensively responsible and won face offs
LaPierre is borderline goon waiting for another suspension

Stranger things have happened
We had Avery ....
