Report a couple of days ago about a 17 yr old from Ontario who met his dad in Quebec for a fishing day. He was on his way home to Ontario and at 8:12pm he got pulled over one set of lights away from Ontario and he got a $600ish fine. Some cops are real assholes.
if he would have left 12 minutes earlier he would not have been fined. It sucks but he knew there was a curfew at 8h pm. Stores are closing earlier than 8h pm to allow their staff to get back home before curfew. The cops arent assoles, the guy was responsible for being out during curfew time.

Are you serious!!! One light away and they are not assholes?? Man its like they were setting a trap.. 12 minutes is not really late for a trip like that.. It is very hard to really get it right on time as anything can slow you down, especially if you are driving responsibly. I agree that they are assholes. A warning should have been enough, but playing that tuff attitude is just Blah, and they are as silly as this curfew is.

While I am totally for wearing a mask, keeping your distance and not going out as much as possible, I think the curfew is totally ridiculous and useless. The virus doesn’t know the time of day and people can visit and see others from 8pm to 5am it only makes it a bit uncomfortable, the virus is perfectly happy to spread between 8pm and 5 am.
As far as the cops, the kid was 17 and only one set of lights away from being home or complying, so yes the cops were total ass holes and on their usual power trip, it is a 17 year old kid after all what would have been wrong with giving him a warning.
It would have hurt the ass hole cops super power trip ego that’s what.
Perhaps some people have a hard time remembering when they were 17 and the stupid shit they did then and they wonder why a lot of people hate cops and don’t want anything to do with them.
Personally I have never had a pleasant conversation with a cop they all have this huge chip on their shoulder and talk down to you, obvious sign of a real dumb ass.

The curfew is still being enforced? I went out last night in NYC to meet a friend for an evening walk. Both of us were outside, wearing masks, etc. and I was thinking about this thread. What I did last night isn't permitted in Montreal and that must really suck. I couldn't even imagine going through something like that. What's next for curfews, and when are the restrictions going to end? Once a curfew has begun, it must be incredibly difficult to undo it.

Look behind you.
I am flying back to Montreal on Monday and had to plan my flight to be back in Drummondville before 8pm, a landing at 6:30 does not work for me. Except for seeing my daughter my 10 days off is probably going to be boring.

You can always sleep inside the airport till morning lol.
To me this whole curfew is ridiculous you can visit everybody you want from 5am-8pm the virus can spread during that time as much as it wants it doesn’t have a watch and shit head cops can’t give it fines of $1500 which is what it is really all about.
cops don’t have to give parking tickets anymore the curfew is much more lucrative income for the city.

I'm hearing from lawyer friends that there are 100's of lawsuits currently against both federal and provincial governments regarding all these restrictions.

None of these lawsuits will be successful, it already been declared in a few judgements that due to the exceptional circonstances, it was not excessive to vote exceptional measures to protect the people's health.

There should have never been a curfew. Nowhere else in North America is there a curfew and cases dropped everywhere. A curfew is part of a police state.

Yes. In general, at least in NYC, people wear masks when they are outside walking down the street. I'm just happy they haven't taken that away from us yet.
