Well, yeah, IF your idea of making America great is having the economy sink, having massive unemployment, having a huge homelessness problem and an unprecedented number of potential evictions, having over 150,000 deaths from a pandemic largely because of totally inept handling by the Bungler-in-Charge, having historic discord in the population, having a corrupt president ceaselessly promoting hatred, bigotry and racial strife, having the "leader" of the US kowtowing in total fear to Putin, having a wretched medical system that destroys many Americans financially and medically, having a nation that was once the powerhouse of the world and is now the pitied laughingstock of the world, having an already-impeached president who continues everyday to lie to the American people and abuse his authority, having a "leader" who knows nothing about American history or the Constitution, having armed paramilitary thugs attack peaceful American citizens under the orders of the orange-makeup-wearing crybaby, etc., etc., etc.

Yeah, IF you think all that is good, then President Bone Spurs has indeed made America great again. However, for anyone who would prefer a SAFE, SANE, NORMAL, UNDIVIDED, PEACEFUL, PROSPEROUS United States, Trumpie has - in less than four years (!) - turned his ONCE-great nation into, as he would phrase it, a "shithole country" pitied by most of the world. Give him four more years and I have full confidence that he will COMPLETELY destroy his country.

Reading some of the posts here about Trump one would think he made the virus and the cause for unemployment. Take note, before the virus the US had the lowest in employment rate, the most amount of blacks working, women out umbered the men in the workforce.

A reminder that this is an Escort review board first, not a political discussions forum. These spaces are provided solely as a courtesy to members who are also interested in these subjects. When moderating the political threads takes more of a moderator's time than moderating the rest of the board, there is a problem. We currently receive more reports about political threads than about any other subject on MERB.

This is supposed to be an adult board but for some reason, certain posters prefer to behave like children.

We expect from now on that the discussions in the political threads will be civil and fully adhere to the Forum Rules, especially when members are at opposite ends of the political spectrum.

There will be zero tolerance for insults, goading, trolling, etc., of any sort. If certain topics such as the Trump presidency keep degenerating into this kind of behaviour, discussion of them will not be allowed. Members who are unable to behave will be banned until well after the next inauguration in January 2021

The goal of an election is to convince as many people as possible to vote for you.

That's really the ultimate goal, and you can't win if you don't do that.

That's why Republican operatives are freaking out right now.
Trump is actively trying to court only the Republican base, and that will never be enough to win an election.

Not entirely correct. In a presidential election you can win with less people voting for you. That’s what Trump did in 2016. He won the electoral college. A Republican voting For Trump in say NY or California is a waste of time because he has no chance of winning either states. But, winning Republican states and swing states is important. You are correct that Trump will need more than just his base to win the upcoming election.

But before covid-19 the US was firing on all cylinders, all time low unemployment, most blacks ever working, more women in the workforce, stocks did well.

I think if he used his energy to rally his side to wear masks, be mindful of some sense of socially distancing and didn’t undermine his task force USA as a whole would be able to enjoy some semblance of life which the sensational six or whatever you call the north east. That would help economy more than anything
