Bloomberg! Finally a democrat that can rival. Nothing extreme with him like with Warren or Sanders. As old as Bidden but seems to know where he is any minute of the day.

He could be a real challenge dont you think? I assumed Trump to win 2020 easily but could not be the case anymore.

Cheers,

Why would you assume Trump would win easily? What logic is involved there? He has one advantage - the electoral college. Outside of that he is behind on all the polls, he has always been unpopular, he is self destructive. He does have a couple of additional advantages in that he is perfectly willing to cheat and to sell out the country and the GOP in general is actively putting in as many vote suppression tactics as it can.

As for Bloomberg. He can rival... what? He's an old-school Republican. Business first, bad economic ideas, and no focus on racism/sexism. I am not sure why you think he would be a strong contender. He's doomed in a Democratic primary, which he seems to be joining, since he's basically got the same constituency as Steyer and Schultz but with more name recognition and some actual experience as Mayor. He isn't going to do much better than they did. He's smart enough not to run a third party campaign since that would probably tip it to Trump. (There isn't actually much of a voting block that wants conservatism if it doesn't have the racism involved.)

The Media will love him because "billionaire that is for the rich people but not crazy racist"/aka "reasonable Republican" is something they desperately want. And maybe the propaganda bonus and free advertising for that will work... but not enough to win a primary. I'd be genuinely stunned.

That kind of stuff apparently works in Trump's favor.

It's rare I agree with Bred Sob. That kind of thing is mostly things his base likes. The criming as well. The crimes may push his approval even lower in the suburbs, but his hard core fan base like him because he's a sleazy asshole.

Hmmm, what did I do wrong today?

Thank you as always for the profound analysis! Did you by any chance help Hillary to come up with the immortal "basket of deplorables" line? I suppose you are now hard at work helping the 2020 candidate. Never put down the shovel!

Man you know how to put your foot in your mouth sometimes lol.
Does not do much for your, I love all women image .....

Actually she was not weak but a real hard core entitled bitch and came across that way, at least that is how I saw her.
Someone I would never trust, I would rather go porn star hunting with Trump.

That is why I wrote she was weak candidate. I would not trust her as well. As for being a women well that does not help either. America was strong enough to elect a black 10 years ago and that was great but women?? Is america ready?

Fradi skeleton are good for Trump. Thats what his side like about him.

Jaliman hit the nail on the head this time around lol :clap2:

Fir once pretty much everyone here seems to be in agreement about something Trump related ,,, supporters and his critics alike

Scandals that would have been the equivalent of the kiss of death for any normal politicians career just hasn’t the least damaged his . It’s like he’s immune to all of this , and his supporters don’t believe or just don’t care if any of that stuff is true

So all this talk about more Trump skeletons coming out , October surprises and other such scandals damaging his re-election chances ?!,,, well I wouldn’t hold my breath :/

I believe the only reason an arrogant corrupt prick like Trump won is because Hilary was an entitled stuck up bitch that nobody trusted.
Having said that, in spite of becoming the laughing stock of the rest of the world and all being scared to death of such an unpredictable ego maniac, the US economy has thrived under him.
As you can tell I am discusted by all politicians, but I may have picked Trump over Hilary also, what an impossible choice to make.
Time for us to build a wall and have the US pay for it.

Fradi I agree with all of this. I didn’t vote for Trump, but could not in good conscience vote for Hilary for reasons you mentioned but also because of all the special interest money she accepted which deeply troubled me. I don’t like it when politicians become beholden to special interests with a specific agenda:

Wait, you literally couldn't vote for Clinton because you thought she was a bitch? (I notice you didn't specify what "special interests" or "specific agenda" you didn't like.
That's pretty pathetic. Dislike of someone's personality should be the last in line of reasons to vote against someone. (It matters, but it is pretty low on the list.)

Wow... Strong stuff, I must say. Could you perhaps take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to list these reasons you are referring to? In their order of importance ideally. It would be much appreciated.

I have heard so many people say they did not like Harper because he was an ass, my reply was, did you expect him to come to dinner or run a country.

And you are 100% correct in that response. It should play into whether you make him leader of your party, or as a tie breaker if you have a few good options, but once you are at the general election you choose who you think is going to do the best job, not who you want to hang out with.

To answer BS above - The list should start with they and their party's policy positions. You probably want to consider their expressed preferences for what policies they will prioritize (because they can't do everything). What are they trying to do, how does that align with their party's ability to do it, what will they prioritize. After that life experience, view of their character under pressure, moral view and perspective. Somewhere at the bottom should be "I think they're cool/I think they are an asshole". It plays in, sure. It should play in a lot when you are in the nomination stage and have a bunch of candidates with similar world views and goals. But once you are at general election, it should be one of the last things. At the very least it has to compete with those other matters.

For example, lots of people in the last Canadian election voted for the Liberals even if they thought Trudeau was a vapid, empty suit who is full of himself and more than a little corrupt. They did because they thought that even if Scheer is probably more true to the beliefs he says he supports than Trudeau is to the ones he claims, the goals of the Conservative party aren't what they want. You saw the same thing with Trump. Lots of people who didn't like him personally but voted for him because they thought Trump and the GOP were more likely to deliver things they wanted for the country.

^^^^^^ What do the Trudeau supporters want that Trudeau will deliver? This could be the question of the decade....

Harris out
That's a shame. She wasn't my choice but I thought she brought more to the table than some of the people still in.

In a sense it is regrettable that the freak gallery is losing its venerable members. The more the merrier.
