This is a major golf tournament being held at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Ile Bizard and island northwest of Montreal. Any of you guys ever been there? How big is the waterway separating that island from the Island of Montreal? Is it like the Lachine Canal with footbridges you can walk over to get there? The course looks nice and the clubhouse looks huge. Oldest golf course in North America..

Live in the west island, traffic is horrendous and the Ile Bizard bridge is under construction on top of that, and cops at every street corner and stopping everyone before crossing the bridge and need a pass to get onto the island. Good luck trying to drive or walk over, and by the way it's a long walk to the Golf Club, middle of the island , and only 1 bridge to get in and out, and the ferry is for Laval only.
I was in the Ottawa area last week & thinking of attending the tournament. I was waiting to see if hotel rates in Mtl would drop but since they all remained high throughout the week & weekend i said screw it & watched it on tv instead. I was looking at google maps & trying to figure out the best way to get there. I didn’t really feel like driving there since i figured traffic would be a nightmare plus parking would probably be as bad. Do you know if there were shuttles available to get there from downtown?
Yes there was a shuttle from near the Bell Centre. It was pretty convenient, no worse than any.other golf tournament I've been to. The tournament itself was enjoyable to attend. It was well organized and the food and drink services were very good. The club is beautiful and the course is an excellent tournament course with a good mix of birdie opportunities and dangerous holes. The competition was also better than the overall score would indicate. The individual matches were mostly quite competitive and the galleries were engaged
