What a joke, how to ruin an economy in a few easy steps. Change the constitution so Quebec is a nation, funny. Just my opinion.
Can you tell me which commerce does that? I want examples. I am born in Montreal and majority of businesses operate in French. Whenever I go to a store I am greeted in French NOT English. I have to ask for service in English. Here is my take. The reason the CAQ is making a lot of noise about it now is due to immigration. Since Trudope got elected he opened the floodgates to mass immigration. I never seen so many in Montreal. The number one immigration country is India. They are waiting in line just to leave their country. Trudope made a special deal with Indians. He will let them in but he wants their votes. But aside from that they come as international students and Indians speak English. They enter into any post secondary English institution to be able to get their immigration papers. Due to this it appears are if the proportion of those entering into Francophone post secondary institutions is dropping. They are not interested in French so the provincial government is worried that all these immigrants entering will reduce the dominance of French. Many Indians are working as Uber drivers and I see many working at Tim Hortons. They all have very limited French and are not interested in the language. I can see how this can be a problem. With more of them entering then the trend is towards less French. They are worried that French will loose its dominant status. When I used to live in Toronto I would say about 20% of the population did not speak much English. There the culprit for Chinese people who often did not speak English. I imagine that number is much higher today. They need a Bill in Toronto to make English the official language of commerce. Me personally I see the law as a good thing because it will reduce immigration levels and keep things more affordable in Montreal. With Trudope we were headed to another Toronto. I do not want that here at all. One question I have is why Montreal cannot be officially bilingual like New Brunswick? You do realize those politicians attended university in English. Knowing more languages opens more doors to jobs.N'importe quoi.
