Also, on the same page.

Britain announces new military aid to Ukraine.

UK pledged on Wednesday another 1 billion pounds ($1.2 billion or €1.15 billion) in military aid to Ukraine to help it fend off Russia's invasion.

The package includes "sophisticated air-defense systems, uncrewed aerial vehicles, innovative new electronic warfare equipment and thousands of pieces of vital kit for Ukrainian soldiers," Downing Street said in a statement.

IMHO, same goes here with that kind of announcement. One should be cautious, mostly all this is public relation. Remember the big earthquake in Haiti, a few year ago and the sum that was pledge by the international community : more than $5 Billions us. Well many year later, only about 1/10 of that amount reached the country. As of Ukraine international support, yes it is substantial, no doubt about that but It will be always short of the sum of everything written in the media.. The help to Ukraine has a strong popular support in most occidental countries. Politicians will dwell on it.

maintenant SOUS HAUTE SURVEILLANCE.....well done.

Putin says Russia has no problems with Finland, Sweden in NATO.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia has no problems with Finland and Sweden joining NATO.

"We don't have problems with Sweden and Finland like we do with Ukraine," Putin told a news conference in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat.

"If Finland and Sweden wish to, they can join. That's up to them. They can join whatever they want." :D

Russia on Thursday pulled back its forces from a strategically placed Black Sea island where they have faced relentless Ukrainian attacks, but kept up its push to encircle the last bulwark of Ukraine's resistance in the eastern province of Luhansk.

Russia's Defense Ministry said it withdrew its forces from the Zmiyinyy (Snake) Island off Ukraine's Black Sea port of Odesa in what it described as a “goodwill gesture.”

Ukraine's military said the Russians fled the island in two speedboats following a barrage of Ukrainian artillery and missile strikes.

Ukraine’s army accused Russia of carrying out strikes using incendiary phosphorus munitions on Snake Island Friday, just a day after Moscow withdrew its forces from the rocky outcrop in the Black Sea.

The Russian defense ministry on Thursday described the retreat as “a gesture of goodwill” meant to demonstrate that Moscow will not interfere with UN efforts to organize protected grain exports from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian army on Friday accused the Russians of being unable to “respect even their own declarations.”

The Ukrainian army announced on Sunday that its soldiers had withdrawn from Lyssychansk, a key city in Donbass, eastern Ukraine, facing a heavy onslaught by Russian troops for weeks. :(

It is what it is. Russians have decided to reduce urban warfare and instead rely on non stop artillery barrages (60,000 shells a day!) to push the advance & reduce the cities to demolition sites. The question is can they keep it up - it took them over 2 months to capture 2 small cities in the east.

And recently the new Western rocket systems are wreaking havoc on the ammo dumps previously far beyond reach.

Russian forces are pounding Sloviansk with "massive" shelling, its mayor said on Tuesday, as the eastern Ukrainian city becomes Moscow's next target in its campaign in the Donbas region.

[paraphrased]

Russia: I'll kill all of you f*cks if you don't let me kill these people

The mistake of the Putin’s clique is that they think that they are Russia. Eventually they will be delivered to the Hague by the very same Russian people, and no nukes will save them. The only problem is that they may be delivered in the hanged upside down position like Mussolini.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with United States Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal who represent the Republican and Democratic parties of the United States.

The Head of State thanked the senators for the visit to our country and for the strong tangible support from the USA in times of tremendous challenges related to Russian aggression.

"Bicameral and bipartisan support is really important for Ukraine. We feel it, we feel this unity," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

During the meeting, the President separately emphasized the importance of creating the necessary security conditions that would make the educational process possible in educational institutions.

"The number one task for us today is for women with children to be able to return to Ukraine by September 1, so that children can go to school, so that students do not leave and can go to universities. It is very important for us to do two things - to repair schools, universities, and also to have a powerful air defense," he said.

In this regard, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on senators to back the decision on providing Ukraine with modern air defense systems.

"First of all, we appeal to you so that the Congress supports Ukraine in the matter of supplying modern air defense systems. We must ensure such a level of sky security that our people are not afraid to live in Ukraine," said the Head of State.

During the meeting, the parties separately touched upon the issue of increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor state. Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal informed Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the work they are carrying out in the Senate with the aim of recognizing the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The President thanked the senators for this important activity and emphasized Ukraine's readiness for further close coordination of activities with partners on the sanctions track.
