And plus...the US is sending old 2nd tier stuff, that was paid for DECADES ago, but is still valued on the Pentagon's books at purchase price. Equipment so old that it's not even made anymore, like Stinger anti-air missiles. Vehicles/ordnance so old that it would have cost money to decommission, like the M113s & cluster munitions. For the newer stuff (like artillery shells or the Abrams tanks), well guess what - the US is paying US citizens to make them, it's not a blank check to Ukraine.
Also...from a strategic point of view, Ukraine is a critical supplier of rare gases used in chip production.
Whether the conflict in Ukraine is resolved quickly or becomes a protracted struggle is still unclear. However, the new churn in geopolitics underlines the imperative for enhancing resiliency of the semiconductor supply chain to prepare ourselves for more uncertain times.

Just about everything we use or depend on in modern life depends on steady chip production. Computers, cars, airplanes, medical equipment, phones - they all use computer chips. If Putin had seized that, then he'd have the whole world economy by its balls.
