Russian army uses conscripts and is notorious for treating them brutally.
This is gonna hurt - Russia cut out of SWIFT system, the backbone of international commerce (SWIFT is how banks transfer money). I guess Russia can still get paid for its gas via armored truck, but it's a long way between Berlin and Moscow...and accidents can happen.

T-80s in ditches and scuttled by their crews because they ran out of gas.
Worth noting that all the best Soviet tanks were made in…Ukraine. Ukraine has large military industrial capacity, so very well equipped army and well versed in Russian doctrine.

He has no other option, his army is dying by attrition.
