I'm a part timer - I do not indulge in this hobby often (once in the last three years). I cannot provide valid references due to this when attempting to meet providers. The alternative screening process usually involves sharing a photo ID or your linkedin profile. What's the consensus on here regarding this?

You can suggest to pay a deposit, or book a provider who doesnt have a screening policy. ^^

Look behind you.
Never knew any agency here required a reference, if it is an Indy move on and try another.

You can try using your merb handle as a "comfirmation of your identity". I know we are not all "as recognizable" by our handles on the same level but thats an option personally i would offer for reference. Another one would be to use agencies as reference.

Personally i am against giving away personal details like facebook (have no linked thingy) or an ID with a picture. Or sharing job infos so she call there and such. Those are FOR ME too invasive forms of "screening".

In the end it all depends how much you want to see that particular person and how much privacy you are willing to sacrifice. But as Sam said above, its not really an issue usually in Montreal. Thats more an US thing and i know a few providers use it in Toronto.

What's the point of sharing my handle if I'm largely inactive on it? I agree that sharing LinkedIn profile is too invasive. Pity though, I was looking forward to see this provider.

Personal info requirement is on her website for prospective clients unable to provide references.

I have had independent providers in the USA ask for personal information like this. A few times I gave it to them. I never liked doing that. Then P-411 came about. I used to be a member but I let that expire. I remember the year I had P-411, as soon as I gave my handle and wed sites I reviewed on, the provider no longer needed it. They could tell I was legit. Most times they want two references. Most of the time they wouldn't even check. I think these girls have a 6th sense and a few e-mails back and forth and you are usually in.

^^^^ Yes Sam. Better to give your alias or P411 alias than your true identity. Also, it identifies you as a reviewer. This is not a threat but the girl ought to know that you are a reviewer. If the SP decides just to show up and collect the money then there may be repercussions in the form of an honest review. Obviously, we all prefer to write raving reviews...

Again i said it all depends on what you do with your account...

Mine is very active, i post, i review when i see providers (even if its just 6/7 times a year) and i partake to parties when there is them and i identify myself as my merb handle. So it usually is well enough FOR ME. But then for a guy with around 100 post in 3/4 years... i dunno.

A photo ID or some other form of verification would be the way I would go.

I would never share my Linkedin profile with an escort/sp. That's how you network, get jobs, put bread on the table. Wouldn't want to chance your MERB world colliding with your professional world. Not even for a second.

Yet if you give that, it would be uber easy to find you afterward on any other social media... :/

True. But, I was sticking to the specific post. As far as finding someone via other social media outlets that's on him and his privacy settings.

Send me that info and I have a friend who will get lots of info about you no matter what your linkedin privacy settings were. I would never send that to anyone I did not know.

Easier/safer to move on to a different SP. I have seen one in Calgary that asked for ref, replied back saying I know no one and if it is a problem I will search elsewhere and that was how I met Taylor Sweet.
