These girls are making a killing from men like these

I think for a lot of men leaving the safety of their homes, their neighborhood and the place they grew up in with the familiar faces is a difficult thing. You would have to be a adventurous, and also be a certain personality type to step out of your comfort zone, and actually meet people. There is also some baggage from upbringing, religious & family background, and belief systems that keep most men from venturing out of their comfort zone. They can rationalize this virtual interaction, and also get some excitement from a break in the monotony of their lives. Before we had OF, there were phone sex hotlines, where a lot of men racked up huge bills to be talking to someone pretending to be a beautiful lady. And porn is I think similar to OF - except that OF has the one on one human connection that we all desire, and hence the popularity. As far as folks paying for porn and OF, I think once they have discovered something that they can enjoy, they will stick to it - in the same way that they will stay within the confines of the safety of their homes. And this could also be true for the ladies - you would have to be adventurous and a confident person to be a SP.

I think though that competition is fierce, loyalty can be fleeting, and the overhead costs with the time commitment can be big. And like any other social media phenomenons like Facebook, Snap, twitter etc. there will an initial upward curve, then a flattening of the curve, and later a downward slope when folks figure out that the virtual world is boring compared to real life.

I donk think OF is going to kill "the hobby" (or my in person job, in my case lol). You're going with the premise that it's less work for everyone. Personally, while I do have a OF, it definitely feels like MORE work to me and I 100% prefer escorting. Shooting porn is fun. Taking nudes is fun. But... Editing it is annoying. Having to advertise our OF all the time is tiring (if I wanted this to be my main stream of income I'd have to post my link on multiple platforms multiple times a day, whereas I'm at a place in my escort business where I advertise once a month if at all and still get booked). Having to answer 100 horny messages from the same guy, without a tip, messages that often lead nowhere, is annoying. Feeling pressured to deliver customs in a timely manner is stressful. There are many reasons why OF feels like more work to me and a lot of my friends, and for these reasons, many of us really do prefer in person work.

Do I make money on OF ? Yes. I could make a shit ton if I put more time into it. But it's genuinely not worth the stress. I prefer meeting one on one and keeping OF as my side hustle.

As long as men and women exist, the "hobby" will survive. It isn't going anywhere. We aren't going anywhere.
Thanks for your perspective. Gave me a better understanding of things behind the scenes.

That's how you feel, and the sentiment is nice.

But just take a look at the lack of talent and the statistics. I'm not opining with theories. It's... literally happening. Top agencies have 1/4 of the top talent they used to. It's... mostly subpar options lately.

Most of the popular OF girls don't do the chatting themselves lol. I know 3-4 girls on OF making 20K-30K/month and they hire an assistant to do all of that stuff for them (just like how many SPs have booking assistants). They just need to take photos and make videos. Takes them a couple hours a week. Why bother doing SP work when they can do that?

I addressed this in my comment, we are lucky to have some SPs who don't like showing their face online, which is why they still work as an SP. My current favorites, I have asked them point blank and they said they don't want to put photos of themselves online. I am sure they would make 100x more money if they did. We are lucky they don't go that route :) That is the only saving grace to keep some talent in the hobby

The hobby won't die. I never said that. But it is definitely killing it. The choices are.. lacking.

There are new escorts every year. Maybe less of them wanting to work under a pimp? Idk. I don't have the full statistics, but I'm pretty sure escorts aren't going to stop existing anytime soon.

Yeah, many of them do, but not everyone does. And I'm not lying when I say I have many friends who feel the same as me regarding online work.. My point is you're not going to wake up one day and find zero escort ads. Lol

Btw filming videos is actually more work than it seems. It can take exponentially longer than an appointment with a client, be a lot more athletic, and dont even get me started with the time spent editing and promoting.

Wait this might be where my confusion comes from, because in my mind when you kill something, it dies ! Hahha
