Think of any two digit number (between 10 and 99).Suppose you think of 99.
Add the two digits: 9 + 9 = 18.Subtract 99 - 18 = 81.Focus on the shape corresponding to 81.Then click on the ball.The image corresponding to the resulting number appears.

i think he means how is it always right... its easy, they put the same sign for all the right answers...
take 99: 9+9=18 99-18=81
then 23: 2+3=5 23-5=18
take what ever two number, and you'll notice its always the same sign at the number...

Si on choisit 13, l'équation est 13 - (1+4) = 9. Les résultantes de l'équation ne peuvent donc être que 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72 et 81.
Remarquons deux choses. Tous ces nombres ont le même symbole. Et ce symbole change à chaque fois qu'on joue au jeu, de façon à parfaire l'illusion.
Votre ordinateur n'est pas ensorcelé…

Danny is correct as to why it works.The symbols associated with #'s 82 - 99 mask the pattern(the symbol for #'s 9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72,& 81 is always the same) - it is impossible for the subtraction to yield a total of 82 or higher hence the symbol associated with 90 and 99 will vary from the one
associated with the aforementionned numbers.This has the effect of distracting the eye from the solution.
