or... just haven't been flagged yet. You don't even need full face pics to build a usable recognition profile.

"Tell me who you know, and I'll tell you who you are" / guilty by association, combine behaviour with social media engagement pods its just a question of time before it gets automated with higher success rate.

I will also say, that many girls when traveling give off a pretty strong SW vibe. They broder agents don't need proof... they just need suspicion. [...]
Yes, who you know, and travel patterns. If you are not a businesswoman, how come you go to the States by plane for 24 hours? People go to Burlington by car for a day, but otherwise, it's suspicious. Many things raise red flags, indeed.

Wearing expensive brands, huge boobs, bbl, overly sexy, frequent flyer (without Nexus), economy class, nonstop texting/selfies, surely more than enough without even facial recognition to be "randomly" selected. Not saying all SW are flashy, but I do think that many flashy girls could easily attract unwanted attention.
I was wondering if aesthetics are part of the reason why certain people get caught.. We're advised not to bring lingerie and sexy outfits and sex toys and stuff like that when travelling. But at the same time, I've heard of people who don't have this type of look who got caught.

Happened to me once, it's not fun and quite nerve racking, thank God I was smart about it, deleted my dating apps and accounts, insta, VPN app etc, dirty text messages and thankfully no nudes. They looked through my photos too and would ask me questions about specific photos ,( lots of festival pics) but did not question me on my pet bunny pictures or videos.
I've mentioned this in other threads so I apologize if I'm repeating myself but I would highly recommend that you erase your phone before traveling across the border. Very simple to do, you can re load your phone's info when you get to your hotel, and never worry about this kind of stuff ever again. Phones are very different from 20 years ago when you could cross a border with your flip phone and have no worries. That same phone today has your whole life's history in it and why wouldn't a border agent find something.

In the last article I shared, border agents said "They said, ‘Next time you come through, don’t have a cleared phone,’ and that was it." Even a cleared phone is suspicious, of course, because anyway, they don't need proof.

Yup, that would indeed raise eyebrows. Also, if you delete apps, make sure you dont have empty spots on the home screen... that just screams "i just deleted some app". And if you have apps like IG, dont be logged into multiple accounts, they know how to switch. If you have personal social accounts dont remove the app from the phone, its suspicious to have FB and especially an active IG and not have it in your phone.

Here is some additional truths about your iphone.... if you give them your password, they can literally clone your phone. If they do that, they have access to deleted messages and purged media files. So ya, even if you delete and empty "forever"... its still leaves a trace and can often be recovered. And doesn't require advanced forensics tools. Its just the way storage works.

If I was an SW. I would definitly not be using my personal phone or laptop to store any private activity. I'd get some cloud computer and operate from there. That way, even if you lose your phone or laptop, you can still function and you dont have to carry evidence over borders.

One thing that always struck me as risky, was during the pandemic a lot of girls opened OF (and other publisher) accounts under their real names - or had to link their personal bank accounts. Seems like a pretty easy way for goverments to map out real names with their stage names ? Link that to twitter and you pretty much have a schedule and destination for SWs.

We don't use our real names yet they manage to link, and with success on multiple occasions, an online provider's profile to her real name and passport, even before they search her things and phone. They usually have all the information before her arrival at the airport. A username doesn't protect you from anything.
Just a thought, AI can fix blurred faces and facial recognition is used at border crossings.

Information-sharing is a key strategy for sex workers trying to safely cross the border – but as US immigration enforcement’s methods are largely unknown, evading detection can never be guaranteed.
Based on stories shared with the union, Lorelei said workers believe the border force uses “facial recognition surveillance technology and more general background checks”. Some speculate that sex work advertising websites might share workers’ personal data with the state, while others believe the state has ways of accessing this data without websites’ permission.

Being suspicious is one thing, getting caught with stuff on your phone and being denied entry is another. But I understand what your saying.

They don't have to have proof to deny you entry. If they are suspicious, they might not ban you but you will be denied entry and flagged. You will need papers to prove your entire life when you want to cross the border, and you might not even be accepted again. I have heard about both situations happening to providers in this industry multiple times, one being my close friend.
