I am in my mid 30s so I am wondering something... Were FS strip clubs more common back in the day (in Quebec)? Was there more strip clubs overall? Did lap dances exist? I am curious to know how the scene was.

There were definitely more FS strip clubs 30 years ago. The main reason was that there were no escort agencies then.

I can easily name a couple of clubs in Montréal - yes IN Montréal - were FS clubs were in activity.

First there was that club in Saint-Léonard on Boulevard des Grandes Prairies . It was located on a corner were today there is a "garderie" (kindergaden) there.
There was also FS on a club that was located close to Alfie's: the name of that club was Bunny's.

The Mecca of FS strip clubs (in the mid 80's) was Laval. I can name a few of them: Tutu Bar on Des Laurentides (that was located in the basement of Motel Vicomte, before Raymond Malenfant bought that joint; there was the Mo-Li bar, still on Des Laurentides (it was located in front of the former Miracle Mart (where there is now the Megaplex Guzzo), then there was Le Café des Mile Iles: a venue that was full of sleazy black girls (French and English).

In the 80's there were a lot of strip club in Montréal! Some of them were not really FS clubs but YMMV" The best examples were The Harem on Blvd. Gouin near the Lachapelle Bridge and Le Pot au Feu (still on Blvd Gouin near the Sacré-Coeur hospital).

@protagoras my question for you is: If there weren't no booths at that time, where did the fun took place, especially at the Harem?

You're right there were no booths, But as far as I remember the club was very very dark inside. There was a special corner where they took you.
There was a goddess that was working there - an Hindu - and her name was Shobha. She gave me her phone number but unfortunately when I called her a man answered the phone. I hung up the phone. When I told her what happened when I called her she told me that it was her brother...ya sure!

The dancers were unzipping you pants and they sat on you.

There were booths at Le Café des Mille-Îles but no curtains.

I remember another club near Montréal (on St-Athanase - near Saint-Jean d'Iberville) they took you to a room behind the club.

Note that these clubs in Montréal and Laval didn't stay long»: froma couple of months to two years maximum.

On site service clubs in the city of Montreal started in the early 1980's. Note this is pre-merger Montreal, so St.Leonard, Montreal North, LaSalle, west island municipalities are not included. Previously it was non-contact table dances and entertainment with features. The Sextuple had the elite features.

I saw the movie in that newspaper, The opening of Misty Beethoven. I was under aged. In those days the movies were full professional production, with a story and pro lighting and sound. Not like the porn they turn out these days in a few hours.
