I enjoyed her post match interview with the panel where she mentioned being kind of a late bloomer in the sport & didn’t really care for it until she was a teenager & didnt really watch the sport until just a few years ago. By the way Nick Krygios definitely has a future as a tv commentator for tennis once he retires. Impressive!
Indeed. I looked it up & her father is a billionaire. Just like Terry Pegula. Genie Bouchard’s father is also loaded as hell (he’s an investment banker). McEnroe & Connors also were the products of extremely wealthy families. But it’s always been known as a sport for the very wealthy. Of course you still need a lot of talent to male it. But it takes a lot of money to send your children to the best tennis schools in Florida & nurture that talent. Take Maria Sharapova, for example. Sure she’s from Russia but she’s lived in Florida since the age of six or seven & i remember rumours about her father being a wealthy Russian gangster which is where he got the money to send her to America at such a young age & get her to the best tennis schools money could buy.
