WELL...preuve qu'elle a du caractère....she will demonstrate it tomorrow...enjoy.
Denied! Coco Gauff beats Sabalenka again! Sabalenka body language after final point wasn't good. I think some rackets are going to be getting violent treatment in the locker room LOL

More important and fascinating to talk about COCO....wow.....shaky start---1-4 in the first set--- BUT after she was dominant all game long.....soooo cool/ calm and in total control.....perfect body language..... A GREAT CHAMP.....she writes history forever...
SABA played one of her worst game.....and again bad attitude qui ne l'aide pas du tout...au contraire......so BIG BIG CREDIT to COCO...and she is ONLY 21.....more more to come.

It's becoming apparent to everyone that Sabalenka, although blessed with tremendous physical talent, is a mental midget. She was fighting with her box, telling them to shut up and finally asking that one of them be removed, and fighting with herself. And then she still had to fight with Coco. It's too many fights to wage. Saba outweighs Coco by 55 pounds but can't overpower her and doesn't move around and return as well as Coco does. Coco has an excellent future that's going to include many grand slams. Sabalenka needs a sports psychologist. Her head is getting in her way. 70 unforced errors not acceptable in a championship match.

The match was epic and pretty even, but I noticed that when all the chips were on the table, when he was down 3 championship points in the 4th set and then in the tiebreak in the 5th set, Alcaraz seemed to go to another level. I thought Sinner had the match won in the 4th set, and then Alcaraz played 4 brilliant points in a row to seize momentum. Then Sinner was able to get back in the 5th set after going down a break, and send it to a 3rd tiebreaker, only to be dominated in the tie break.

Alcaraz is now 13-1 in 5 set matches in his career. Incredible! A testament to his incredible fitness and stamina.

I know most of you guys were not around late 1970s/early 1980s to watch some of the golden age of tennis. But Alcaraz reminds me a little bit of Bjorn Borg in his prime. Borg won 6 French Opens and was known on tour as the fittest player who wore down his opponents. This aspect of Borg I think Alcaraz shares. Honestly I think Borg was a bit more talented than Alcaraz as he was the most talented I ever saw with topspin groundstrokes. That and the fitness made him lethal on clay. Like Alcaraz, Borg could raise his level in big moments of the match.

However Alcaraz was hitting some topspin drop shots that were UNBELIEVEABLE. I never seen anyone who can hit a drop shot like that with severe topspin!

Sinner could have won the match but he is now 4-8 against Alcaraz and has to figure out a way to raise his game the way Alcaraz raises his on the big points.

BTW in the postgame McEnroe mentioned he knew Sinner's pain from having blown a 2-0 lead in the French Open Open Championship. McEnroe was referring to the 1984 French Open championship he lost to Ivan Lendl in the same fashion, up 2-0 in sets and lost. McEnroe went 82-3 that year and later won Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. He never won the French Open.

"The match is not finished until he wins the last point," Alcaraz said in his postmatch news conference. "A lot of times people came back from match point down in final of a Grand Slam or even in other matches. I just wanted to be one of those players who saved match point in the Grand Slam final and ended up winning.

"I just believed all the time. I never doubted myself, even in those match points down. I thought, just one point at a time. Just one point and then after one point, try to save that game and keep believing. That's what I thought."

WTA RANKING.....SABA and COCO are SOLID 1 AND 2...LEYLAH is now 30....not for long....elle en a quelques une à ses trousses.....MBOKO a fait tout un bond en 91ème place.....ANDREESCU au 118ème rang.....incroyabe.

ATP RANKING......SINNER and ALCARAZ are solid 1 AND 2.....FÉLIX is now 29ème and SHAPO 30ÈME ....rien de bien rassurant.....au moins DIALLO prend du gallon avec une 55ème place.....encore beaucoup de travail.

Leylah's peak ranking was #13 in August of 2022. Do you think she will ever get that high again? She is only 22 years old still, however, it seems like she is consistently overpowered by some of the bigger girls on tour. I was thinking that if they created a special "Petite Division" for women under 5'7"' and weighing less than 125 pounds, she could be a force. She weighs only 106 pounds. How much power can be generated from a 106 pound body? She is a professional tennis player, not an SP. This would be an ideal weight for an SP, but that is not her chosen profession.

Maybe if they could open up a Petite Division in women's tennis, and only players under 125 pounds can play in it, she might have a chance at top 10? They have such weight divisions in boxing and MMA; why not tennis?

IMO......at the best ....she will fight hard to stay in the top 50......toooo much good players in front....and behind they are coming after her......BUT staying in the top 40/50 is not bad at all.....still have many years to play....and money to collect...she is around for
long long long...it's her life et celle de sa famille.....lollll.
