It’s a great time to be a Canadian tennis fan with all the up and coming talented youngsters. How great will they become and how far will they go ? Only time will tell I guess.
I just hope that there afforded the necessary time to properly develop before the Canadian media starts hyping them up and puts added pressure on them. We have seen young stars fade and disappear before haven’t we . No need to mention names.
Not all young athletes have the mental makeup and what it takes right off the bat to deal with great expectations.
But what I have seen so far from them gives me hope that they will do well .

Malheureusement Felix lost in 2 sets 7-6, 7-6...et il s'est battu lui même....au 1er set he was leading 5-4 and bang bang bang 3 doubles fautes consécutives:Cry:..and he opened the door to Isner......second set he was leading 5-3--yes 5-3---but unable to seal the deal...anyway multi bravo for an amazing journey.

That said,,,i like Isner..i like his resilience ,,he went in so many epic-historic matches:yo:

Now let"s wait for Denis this evening..as i said huge challenge.

Felix is good already (and obviously has great potential), but he needs to work on his serve, both technique and speed need improvement. If he manages to make the serve a reliable weapon, sky is the limit.

Félix did great to reach the semis . Nothing to hang he’s head about . He lost from a much more experienced opponent who’s whole career is built on winning tiebreaks and close matches. He was always gonna be an underdog but he gave himself a chance by managing to keep the score close. It’s matches like these that he needs under he’s belt to keep getting better and grow. And I agree with Bred Sob about he’s serve . If he can improve on it and make it a more consistent weapon he will be a hard out for anyone going forward.
Good luck to the other youngster playing later today. He’s gonna have to come up with something special if he plans on upsetting the Master.

Non la magie n'était pas au rendez-vous pour Denis.....bien au contraire avec près de 50 fautes directes ..un match erratique vs son idole --the Master qui a joué un match de routine pour lui pour remporter la victoire......on his way to win his 101th tittle....wow....les kids peuvent contempler l'ampleur du défi devant eux pour les prochaines années.

BUT you know what?.....Félix one hour after his defeat vs Isner was already on the court pratiquant his serve.....yes Félix that's the way to success.

BARTY just won the final.....a very boring game with Pliskova who is never spectacular, no energy, no enthousiasm and unidimensionnelle player...she his a big server...and it works or not...that's all. Au contraire la sympathique Barty has more weapons and she ENJOYS the game..and oh well...she smiles.

FEDERER 6-1, 6-4.....again just too good--perfect, plus ISNER played injured-foot--late in the second set....not the quality final i was expecting BUT the Master is the Master et il peut fièrement célébrer sa 101ème victoire....:yo::yo::yo:

I wonder if anyone had a chance to watch Dominic Thiem play in Barcelona. It was impressive indeed, especially the way he dismantled Nadal. I won't go as far as saying it's the end of Nadal's reign on clay, but the way things stand today, Thiem should be considered a favorite in Paris.

I must admit I am partial to guys using the one-handed backhand. The best stroke in tennis when done right. Federer, Wawrinka, Sampras before them. Thiem, Shapovalov, Tsitsipas among the youngsters. I hope Thiem makes it big.

Indeed great looking matchups for the quarters.

Nadal/Wawrinka looks good.
Federer/Thiem is going the distance. Exciting tiebreaker in the second set .
Would like to watch Tsitsipas taking on Zverev. I believe the last time they played each other was in Toronto . After loosing that match Zverev had not so flattering words for Tsitsipas. Now he gets a chance to play him again , only this time it will be on dirt.
