I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't make an ass of herself. McCain/Palin still isn't getting my vote, but at least she was somewhat dignified tonight.
No, she didn't make an ass of herself. However, had she veered from her notes and the repetitive talking points and actually attempted to answer some of the questions asked of her, she probably would have.

She did make one major blunder, when she suggested that she would like to see the power of the VP increased. Is she suggesting that Cheney hasn't wielded enough power?

Joe Biden, the king of pork- is an idiot, a Dan Quayle waiting to happen

One Example:

He first said: Hezbolah were kicked out of Lebanon in 06

then at the end of his sentence/argument, he said:

Hezbola is now part of the Lebanese government.

Which one is it, dumb ass?

I pity the nation that has a clown like Biden for a politician.

One thing that I hated to hear her say was that McCain knew how to win a war, or something similar, but he fought in Vietnam and the US lost that one.

I cringed also when i heard that comment from her. However, he barely fought in that war....he spent most of it in a Vietnamese prison.

What surprises me about this whole campaign is that the Democrats have failed to inform the voters that McCain almost finished last at military college. I'll bet the Republicans would have been all over this story months ago if this would have concerned the opposing candidate instead.

Palin did better than most expected, but she's been in debate school for the past month & her lines were memorized very well. But it was expected that she wouldn't do worse than how she's been performing on the interview circuit recently. However, Biden hit a grand slam homerun! He was amazing!!

The bottom line, Palin did well, but she didn't help McCain in the process. She only helped heal her image as a bumbling redneck fool. She saved herself from herself! By the way, i don't know if others have noticed it, but her father looks like he idolizes Joe Biden. He was wide-eyed & smiling from ear to ear when Biden went over to shake his hand after the debate. He reminds of myself when i met Andre the Giant when i was 7 years old!!!

Thank you Joe Biden & Sarah Palin for making my night!!! I mean it!! :)

It was Biden's finest moment in a long political career. I was very touched & actually got choked up when he rebuted Palin's diatribe about motherhood. People forget that as a junior Senator, Biden lost his young wife & young daughter to a tragic car accident. His two young sons survived, barely....and in a moment, he was now a single parent of 2 very young children.

And that qualify you to being a VP and a heart beat away from the presidency in what way, exactly????

I figured you were the lone voter here:

Sarah Palin - Displayed better control of facts and ability to deal with the issues.

What the fuck are you talking about??? Biden was simply replying to her statements that she was qualified to be VP because she was a mother of 5 children. People (rednecks who vote Republican) seem to forget that in today's world, parenting also involves & includes men. I send your question right back to you in reference to Palin.

For the record, I am a Canuck living in the US. Later this month, I 'll be coming to Canada to cast my vote for the conservatives and Steve Harper.

About Biden's " I lost my wife - please vote for me" comment, it was a pathetic statement just to get some sympathy out of some suckers out there. His marriage to his dead wife was on the rocks then and they were divorcing. He married his new wife only few months after the accident. Show how much he cared about the accident. Ted Kennedy Chappaquiddick?

Joe Biden's first wife was killed on December 18, 1972 and he married his second wife on June 17, 1977. More than just a few months.

First of all, i don't care if you're a Canuck. It's none of my business. Second, you just don't get it. Either you're purposely trying to act stupid or maybe you simply are too stupid (e.g. reflect the 'base' of the Republican Party) to have any grasp of political points, who cares. Steven Harper sucks George W. Bush's cock, who cares. Everyone knows he does.

Finally, you should quit when you're ahead. You should stop posting in this thread now since we already know how much of an idiot you are. You're only doing yourself harm by continuing to post in this thread. Either you're putting us on or you're a total buffoon!! (or both!! :D :D :D )

Please!!!!!!! Go back & milk some more cows & castrate some more farm animals like the rest of your "base". You're more effective at this!!! :D

My dear yankee friend, you had to bring W. in the discussion. Let me ask you this question: are you aware of the '77 year' rule?

I bet you are not. Here it is:
Every 77 years, the US gets a great president. First came Washington. 77 years later came Lincoln. 77 years later came Theodore Roosevelt. 77 years after him, guess who was the president??

Yes, that's right G.W. Bush, the man himself.

I find sad that foreigners like myself care about this country more than its citizens. No wonder why the librats are against immigration.

And Theodore Roosevelt became president 36 years after Lincoln, not 77...

Our friend here, apparently sucks at math... and facts... and who knows what else! :)

Yeah, never heard of this "77 Year Rule", nothing on Google. Even if it were so, it is more of a coincidence than anything else.

I thought Biden came across as very weak. His “choke-up” moment really shows the pussy he is if it were sincere. He was supposed to destroy Palin, didn’t even come close. I didn’t like his shit eating grin when Palin would get him on the ropes. The fact checkers are saying both had some inaccuracies, but of course Biden had more. Biden lost because he was weak. But what is new, he is a liberal man, all feelings and no balls.
"Say it aint so, Joe"

You must have been watching a different debate than most of us were. Biden had the debate of his life. He looked strong, knowledgeable & presidential. If "choke-up" moments shows that you're a pussy, well then, there must be a lot of pussies among merbites. Personally, i don't see anything wrong in a man showing his emotions instead of keeping everything locked up inside of him. I didn't expect him to 'destroy' Palin. Palin's been trained for this debate for the past month or so. Heck, even Warren Sapp almost looks like he's been dancing professionally after only a few weeks of dance training on DWTS!!

The way the debate was set-up, there was almost no way Biden would have the chance to destroy Palin. If the two debaters would have been allowed to address one another one-on-one, a debater 'destroying' the other debater would have been possible. Just go back to a couple of decades ago when Bentsen embarrassed Quayle when he looked at him & scolded him: "Sir, I knew John F. Kennedy. John F. Kennedy was a friend of mine. Sir, you're no John F. Kennedy." Priceless!!

Finally, the reason Biden (and myself, to be honest) was seen grinning was because every time the Church Lady couldn't think of anything to answer, she'd revert (off-topic, of course!) to talking about taxes, her days as mayor of Wassala, soccer moms & energy. It was an obvious tactic to every open-minded debate watcher.....other than you, of course. You only see what YOU want to see. If the truth would hit you on the forehead, you wouldn't feel a thing!

It was the likes of lefties like David Brinkley and Jane Fonda who lost the war for the US, not the soldiers.

Uh Doc, how many combat missions have you flown ? I am politically opposed to McCain/Paulin and feel we desperately need new leadership but as a Vietnam Vet, I find your statement repulsive. I would never question his courage or patriotism, I just disagree with his politics. BTW, us GIs didn't lose the war - we kicked ass then had R+R in Bangkok !

It's none of your business if i've flown combat missions or not & it's totally irrelevant. Same goes with the fact you were a vet or not....and the fact McCain was a Vietnam vet has been overplayed & shouldn't have an relevancy to the present campaign.

As for his courage & patriotism, okay i'll give you the patriotism part. He volunteered to go to Vietnam & wasn't forced to go. But for his courage....courage for what? For being shot down & being a POW for 5 years?? That's courage?? It's not my definition of courage. It's called being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Vietnam was a non-winnable war (just like the present situation in Iraq) and no one's ever blamed the soldiers for the failures in 'Nam. You can keep your "we kicked ass & then had R&R in Bangkok" comment to yourself, i suggest. It'll make you look better on this board. Who's ass did you kick anyway?
