I think you're right the emphasis is mostly in my head, but then as if to prove my point the recommendation for frustrated life is always sugar babies, etc. I guess this is the new way. I quit my LTR to try to become a better parent thinking I would have support from family, friends, engage in "wholesome" activities and "meaningful relationships" but I must be stuck in the past. -sigh
I am not going back to my time because it was a whole different world and I never found it difficult to find either casual or lasting relationships.
I have not seen an issue with my children or nephews, or their male friends finding girlfriends/wives either so I am not sure that it is all that difficult for the average guy even today.
Sure you are going to face rejections, but that is not really a reason to give up and rely just on pay for play with either sugar babies or escorts.
I think too many young men think you can just do a google search and find what you need on line, there are plenty of places you can meet women you just need to get out there and try and not give up.

Sounds like she has an unrealistic view of her career and earning prospects. She better get to work on finding a successful man to marry, because there are still plenty of desirable girls who are more determined than her and are willing to play the mating game. The problem for her is that successful men tend to marry successful women these days and she’s not going to have much to offer with that journalism degree. Just being young and attractive is not enough to snag a good mate. And good looks don’t last forever (assuming she is good looking).
