So you have a morale victory at best. That's nice. ;)

Well, a victory's a victory. Even better when it's a morale one. Too many people on this board have lousy morales. :D

(Or is it lousy morals? Hummm...)

just remember that only the winner of the AL East will make the playoffs. Wild card will come out of the AL Central.

I honestly can't tell. I don't own a crystal ball. So you think it'll either be the White Sox or the Twinkies that gets the wild card? I'd be surprised to see them surpass whomever is in 2nd place in the AL East. However, there's still a whole lot of baseball to be played. It'll be an interesting final weeks.

p.s. I do see the Red Sox climbing their way up into first within the next 2 weeks. Tampa simply has too many injuries right now to be able to stay atop the powerful AL East & i can't see the Yankees surpassing Boston. I still think the Jays have an outside chance to get the wild card if Tampa struggles like i think it will.

Toronto BJ Wild Card = NO.

Toronto BJ Continue to be Insanely Tough on the Red Sox, as have for most of the decade? = Sadly YES.

These are the only Blow Jobs I don't enjoy.

Yaz in hospital

Hello all,

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8466634/Red-Sox-legend-Yaz-hospitalized-in-Boston

BOSTON (AP) - Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, the last player to hit for the Triple Crown, was hospitalized for tests Tuesday after experiencing chest pains.

The Boston Red Sox confirmed the 68-year-old Yastrzemski was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital and was undergoing evaluation and testing. The team said no further information was immediately available on its longtime great.

Asked whether it was serious, Yastrzemski spokesman Dick Gordon said: "Any time you are in the hospital, it's got to be pretty serious."

The popular Yaz was an 18-time All-Star and spent his entire career in Boston, taking over left field for Ted Williams in 1961 and playing through 1983.

In 1967, Yastrzemski helped revitalize the flagging franchise during the "Impossible Dream" season. And all over New England that summer, kids tried to imitate his unique lefty batting stance, with the bat held high over his head.

With calls of "Yaz" echoing around Fenway Park, he won the Triple Crown that year, hitting .326 with 44 home runs and 121 RBIs. Behind the AL MVP, the Red Sox won their first pennant since 1946, but lost the World Series in Game 7 to St. Louis.

Yastrzemski was elected to the Hall on the first ballot in 1989. He has often shied away from celebrity and rarely made public appearances, but drew a big ovation when he threw out the first ball before Game 1 of last year's World Series.

Yaz finished with 452 career home runs and 1,844 RBIs. He had 3,419 lifetime hits and batted .285. He also won seven Gold Gloves, expertly playing the caroms off the Green Monster.

Yastrzemski is one of five former Red Sox players to have his number retired by the team. His No. 8 is painted at Fenway, along with those of Williams, Carlton Fisk, Bobby Doerr and Joe Cronin.

Sadly,

Jays Destroy Evil Empire!! Now bring on those Red Sox!!

In case you've missed it, the Stankees were destroyed by the Toronto Blue Jays last night by a score of 14-3!!!!!! Yes, 14-3!!!!!!

Now the Red Sox are in town & the Jays need to sweep the Sox in order to remain in contention. If this happens of if Boston loses 2 out of 3, the Red Sox will see their playoff hopes fading. The Stankees are now toast for playoff contention. If this is true & the Red Sox miss the playoffs, it will be the first tie in nearly 20 years or so (i believe) that none of these two teams will have made the playoffs.

Go Jays!!!

(I'll be right behind the plate tonight, close to the two hot blonds!! lol)

Hello Doc,

Yes, I noticed how the Jays smashed the Spankees last night. Isn't it FUN! :D However, you guys are so far back you have to admit the best you can do is be spoilers even if what you say is mathematically possible.

Cheers,

Korbel

Every day i wake up i'm faced with two choices in order to start my day: either spend it being positive, or waste it being negative. I try to look at everything in a positive way since being negative doesn't do me or anyone any good. I try to see the glass as being half full, not half empty. Today the Jays are sending Jesse Litsch against the Sox. I have no confidence in this former Rays batboy whatsoever, but he pitched great in his final start against Detroit after being recalled from the minors. I'll still be at the game behind the plate, with the two hot blonds nearby & hopefully catering to my needs. If Litsch stinks up the joint as i expect him to be, you know who'll be getting my full attention. ;)

p.s. Even though i'm a Jays fan, it's very difficult not to pull for the Rays. By the way, i love the idea of Joe Biden being Obama's running mate. I've always been a big Joe Biden fan! :)

Jays Blast Red Sox 11-0!!!!!!!!!

Who could predict it? Incredible!!!!!!!!!

The Jays totally anihiliated the Red Sox by an embarrassing score of 11-0!!!! Holy crap, this has to be John Lester's worse outing ever!! Jesse Litsch looked like Cy Young today!!! Unbelievable!!!!

11-0!!!!!!! Man, oh man!!!

Doc got bored when the score got to 7-0 so he decided to turn his attention to the two hot blond waitresses in front of him, catering to his needs whenever he lifted a finger or two. What a game, what a great life!!!!

Tomorrow, the slumping Sox send Dice-K to the mound to face the resurgent AJ Burnett & the Jays. Burnett was masterful in his last performance against the most hated team of all time, the NY Stankees. Let's hope he can bring his magic to tomorrow's game.

Wow!!!!!!

Meanwhile, the Rays keep on winning.....and winning......

(by the way, Youkilis' antics when he's at bat make me laugh...what a joker!)

Yes, the Jays are now 7 games back of the wild card....but 11-0...still unbelievable this morning as it was last night!!

Today, the Sox send Dice-K Walk-a-zaka against AJ Burnett.....should be interesting. The roof is supposed to be closed today, so i don't know how AJ will do with the roof closed. Laterly, he's had great outings with the roof open. As for Walk-a-zaka, you just never now....

Hello Doc,

The Jays have some great pitching...at times. Because I haven't followed them I don't know why they are so far back or why they do so well against great teams and can't seem to do much in the standings. But I was listening to Matt Stairs on WEEI to day while driving home. He says the team just gets way up to play the Sox and Tankees. Too bad they can't harness that drive all year.

As for yesterday's game...it's only 1 no matter how you slice it. Have been a Red Sox fan since I was 6 or 7, I immediately recognize when someone is trying to squeeze every bit of glory out of a single game when all else is beyond reach. So enjoy.

Cheers,

Korbel

Even though the Sox were trounced yesterday, 1 game does not a season make. Sox took 2 out of 3 from the BJ's this weekend pushing them further from the wild card. ;)

Hello Boys,

Well, that was a short "slump". As I said, mathematics are one thing. The real chances of New York or Toronto going into October are another.
