i agree, its one thing to bash each other on our passion for our favorite teams in a thread already started, but to put someone down like this in a thread you dedicate to him is just childish and sad.and im not saying that because im a Yankees fan neither, if it was a thread dedicated to bashing "Merlot" i would say the same thing ..... how would each of you like it if everyone ganged up on you like a high school bully ? grow up

Yankees win their first game 6-1

Ahh the boys of summer are finally back, I've been waiting for this day for a long time and it's great to see baseball back today and with everybody and their grandmother predicting that the New York Yankees will win the World Series I will go a step further and predict that they will win it not only in 09 but in 2010 and 2011(three years in a row), anything after 2011 I can't predict because my crystal ball does not see that far out, meanwhile as I am typing the Red Sox are getting smashed to pieces by the Twins and it's only the 3rd inning, a sign of things to come for this old geezer of a team, also Dice K's pathetic line today for Japan against that powerhouse of a baseball team Australia, 1 2/3 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 38 pitches and it would have been much worse if they didn't haul his overhyped ass out of there.

PS- Did anybody get the distance of ARod's monster HR today because I missed it but I heard it went very far.

Damn that first game is hard to win, chalk up another loss for the Red Sox and another win for the undefeated Yankees, seriously the Sox look like they are in serious trouble, a paltry 3 hits against Pittsburgh of all teams.

My Prediction for the East-

5. Red Sox(age and injuries will absolutely kill them this year)

Also let me go on record as predictng that Kei Igawa will have a better year than the overrated Daisuke(5 innings is my limit)Matsuzaka.
