Where I belong.
Iggy, If you are gonna use my post...don't change the words...does not even deserve a reply.:eek:
When are you yankeeites gonna learn to just give up on the money topic - the Yankees by far outspend anyone...:eek:
When you have no argument, your only resource is to lie or to distort what other have to say. This is igna's own way of letting you know that he has no argument.

Yes, the Red Sox spend money. Most teams spend money. 22 major league teams spent between $70 and $139 million. One team spent over $200 million.

There were $1.62 billion spent on free agents last winter. One team spent 38% of that by themselves. The top three free agents, by dollars spent, were all signed by one team.

For someone to suggest that the Red Sox operate on the same plane as the Yankees is patently absurd.

Jman, I've been ignoring igna's moronic ramblings for months now. I'd suggest you do the same. Just pretend he doesn't exist, as, in fact, he doesn't. He's a fool. He's a buffoon. He's not worth your energy.

thinking out loud here...

don't all teams try to buy a title? isn't that the whole point of owning a sports franchise? some spend more than others. yea, so what. a lot of owners can spend more on their teams, but they choose not to. some teams try to win by spending as little as possible. some teams merely want to make $ and don't care about winning a title (like my other beloved team, the sf giants! ha!). fine. it's their choice.

fans complain. are other owners complaining? within the rules of mlb if owners have a problem with it can't they vote to change the salary cap rules?

nobody forced them to join the rich boys club. obviously the majority of owners voted for how the current system works.

hey, here's another thought... what if a team (oh, lets say oakland) tries to win by spending as little as possible. if they win it all i'm gonna complain! "those damn a's are undercutting player salaries just to win a title! bastards are purposely being cheap!"

That would be the Tampa Bay Rays (well they got the AL Pennant) in 2008...Or the Marlins in 2003...yes it can be done...;)
Owners have agreed because the Silly Spending Empire bought the votes too.
Screw the luxury tax BS, MLB needs a salary cap.

Former Yankees infielder Knoblauch pleads guilty in assault case

HOUSTON -- Former major league infielder Chuck Knoblauch has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault on his common-law wife.

According to court records, Knoblauch entered his plea Tuesday in exchange for deferred-adjudication probation. Successful completion of his one-year probation could mean the conviction on the assault of a family member would be expunged from the record.

Knoblauch also was fined $1,000. Knoblauch's attorney didn't return a telephone call Tuesday.

According to a criminal complaint, Knoblauch's wife told police he hit her in the face and choked her at their Houston home in September.

The 41-year-old Houston native played for the Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals from 1991-2002. In 12 seasons, the 1991 American League Rookie of the Year and four-time All-Star batted .289 with 98 home runs and 615 RBIs.
