Yea Beav, heard about that. I just wish espn would either take hockey seriously or not even talk about it. They come across weak when covering the highlights, and i have heard many times on espn radio their guys make fun of the NHL. I think they (espn) are jealous that TSN and their competitors in the States cover the game better than they did when they had the NHL or could ever hope to.

Wouldn't it be funny if.......

Gary Bettman got pissed and had enuf of this nonsense and try's to relocate the Canadiens? Will never happen but funny to think about none the less. Just to add insult to injury, maybe he could relocate them to Quebec City!

In reality, the LAST PLACE hab-nots need all the practice they can get, so what he heck, let em in the Bell Centre and get an unfair advantage over the rest of the league. :thumb:

Well looks like the Leafs will break their record NHL 45 years drought... once again !

45 years is just the start. We'll all be dead, our children will all be dead, and our grandchildren will all be dead by the time the Leafs next win a Cup.

And that's being OPTIMISTIC, since the truth is that the Leafs will most likely NEVER win another Cup.

.. looks like the habs won't be in the basement this upcoming season...

And the next season, and the next one, the next one... since we got rid of the problem unlike some other team who will 'stay the course' according to their self proclamed genius who managed to go from 1st place to 26th in the same season.

But hey ! I can appreciate Doc's analysis this time ! it's never too late to see the light ! ;)

Gentle's still attempting to play in here? Since when do bandwagon fans hang around even during a lockout  Newsflash, gentle, there is no hockey, this is not the time for you to post since the habs are not a win away from a S. Cup.

Congrats to the Toronto Maple Leafs!!!

The Leafs end up with the dubious honour of being the only team not to make the playoffs in the time frame between lockouts. I think the Leafs have finally found a record that will never be broken by any other franchise!

Congratulations on the Montreal Canadiens for not re-signing P.K. Subban, the only restricted free agent of note left on the market.

No doubt Subban & his agent Don Meehan will be shopping his services (Philly?) elsewhere considering how unnappreciated he must feel right now.

Attempting, play, bandwagon fans ?
Looks like I'm getting under your skin even when your Leafs aren't playin.

To be a fan of the most loosing team in the history of hockey of the world after all this time has to be the best definition of a bandwagon fan.

go back to baseball where you belong best !

Well then upon Iggy's advice in the off season thread it seems I should post about the Leafs looking dysfunctional... since Allaire's departure..

But seriously why bother about how much shit hit the fan about the Leafs.
I'd say its no news anyway !

Only Burke is right... along with his blindfate legion of bandwagon fans who switch to Golf or Baseball until their record loosing team get back on the ice.

It's been years now that players don't want to go play for them unless they get paid a lot more than other teams would pay them considering how their GM along with their fans lives in the past since 1967.

So anyone betting it's the last year for Burke anyway ?

I mean it would be the best reason for him to go saying that under these conditions for this season, it would be impossible for him to get the Leafs in the playoffs ! let alone go thru 2nd round :)

BTW Iggy... Like your avatar ! seems that both you and Doc are into dolls now !
How's that ? fair enough ?

Sorry Iggy but an advice is not a lesson...

Try again !

But while you're at it since you were for the Kings last year shouldn't you root for another team than the Leafs and someone else than Romney ? I mean... apart from the Yanks which ar a nice pick... the last 2 are really making you look like someone who go for loosers.

And please ...I didn't mention anything about backing Doc in all your hockey posts so don't start thinking I'm sh!t disturbin'

Calm down little one.... just be glad your scabs wont have to end up in last place again this season with the lockout likely to last the whole year.

The one good thing about the lockout and the dictatorial nature of the NHL brass is that the pompous blowhard Brian Burke has had a muzzle put on him. I saw the Architect of Failure being interviewed and his favourite line was "No comment." Too bad that he hasn't been muzzled his whole life.

Too bad that he hasn't been muzzled his whole life.

Why his whole life ? Like so many, he didn't fail before getting in TO.

The real problem isn't much the guy himself but this magical belief that anything good can come out of the Leafs.
Talk about a whole town living in the past and believing in Santa.

Yes, the Leafs are garbage personified, and yes, anyone who goes there becomes an instant and automatic loser...but I think you're being too generous to Burke, who was an overrated blowhard even before coming to TO.

He couldn't get the job done in Vancouver and his fly-by-night success in Anaheim was only because Bryan Murray had done all the necessary legwork to put a winner in place. Burke ensured that it was a ONE TIME ONLY winner! And of course in Toronto, the home of perpetual losers, his ineptitude has only grown and has been put under a magnifying glass for the whole world to LAUGH at!

I wouldn't let Burke wash my car!

I admire you folks wanting to talk hockey considering there likely will not be any NHL hockey for at least another year.

This will be my final post in any of the hockey threads until the lock-out is over.

Have fun! ;)
