All of that from a last place Red Sox fan.

Let's see facts speak louder than BS. Is Jeter fragile and old?

Jeter played 159 games, had 683 AB, scored 99 runs, had 216 hits, batted .316, hit 32 doubles, 15 home runs.
http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/3246/derek-jeter

Is this old and fragile? No.

Is the resident Red Sox fan spewing his hate speech and venom against the much better team New York Yankees, who won 95 games and the AL East title? Yes

Sounds like a classic case of sour grapes to me.

Absolutely stunning statistics for an old, fragile player, MVP numbers if you ask me.

All true, Doc, except that it's five years remaining on the shards of a once great career.

Clearly, the Yankees fucked up. Why didn't they sign Jose Reyes to be Jeter's back-up? They knew Jeter was old and fragile and wouldn't likely make it through the playoffs. I mean, shit, if you're going to buy a championship, buy it right. No? Look at their closer. They knew they had a fragile old man, so what did they do? They signed Rafael Soriano to be his backup. Even with Rivera out, the Yankees still have the highest paid closer in baseball, tied with Papelbon. Why didn't they sign Pujols to back up Teixeira? What are the Yankees coming to, cheezing out on the salaries and short-changing the empty seats at Yankee Stadium.

Now, they're desperate and, short on starting pitching, they're running Kuroda out on three days rest this afternoon. Lose this one and they're down 2-0 and staring down the barrel of Justin Verlander on Tuesday.

Could this be a sweep, I dare say?

Oh, and by the way, the Yankees starting shortstop is not A-Fraud, nor A-Roid, nor Pay-Rod, not even Nunez. The Yankees starting shortstop is Jayson Nix. So says Girardi.

You're predictions in baseball are legendary, at least you got the U.S election right.:thumb:

The reason i wondered if this wasn't Jeter's last professional game is because of his age. He's 38 years old and has hundreds of millions (i'm sure he'll vote for Romney) of dollars in his bank account. He doesn't need to play anymore. However, if he continues using HGH during the off-season, there's no reason why he can't play another 5 years.

I've started using HGH myself over the past 2 months (after researching it throughly) and the stuff is absolutely great. It's the fountain of youth that everyone has been searching for all their lives. I used to have a very bad right knee & plantar fascitis in my left foot....gone! All the other nagging injuries have quickly healed & i feel strong and vitalized every single day. Heck, even my eyesight has improved!

The only drawback is that it costs a lot of money, which is why i've decided to considerably cut down on my trips to Montreal in order to cover its costs. But when i'll be 60 and 70 years old, people will think i'm 10-20 years younger, so it'll have given me what i want out of it. By the way, for those that are worried, i'm only using it in small doses and only do cycles every few months or so, so my physical appearance (growth) will not change that much. They key is not to over eat, to have balanced meals and continue working out several times a week.

Why? A fractured ankle is very routine.

It's routine in many cases, but often depends which bone was broken, and if the fracture is severe enough to require surgery. As i'm writing this, it's still not known if he'll require surgery. For his sake, i'm hoping no ligaments were damaged when he suffered the injury, which will only extend his rehab time. However, considering all the money he's making, he'll probably shorten his healing time by taking some HGH, which as of now isn't being tested (there presently isn't a test for it). Any professional athlete would be nuts not to inject himself with HGH if he can afford to. You heal better & quicker, your stronger, quicker & faster, and i swear it improves your eyesight.

Four thousand empties in the House that Ruth Didn't Build last night. And I'm not just talking about the $700 seats around home plate that sit empty every night. You know, the ones bought by the 1% that they use as tax write-offs and let the taxpayers pay for. No, last night they were the "cheap" seats that the Yankees couldn't sell. 4000 empty seats, how embarrassing.

And still made a bazillion dollars at the box office last night, how much did the red sox make last night?

And here i thought you looked 25yrs old the natural way. :)

Gee, thanks!! :D

However, it'll take a decade of HGH use for it to show it's 'youthful' effects. Just look at Sylvester Stallone, for example. Does he really look 66? What about Arnold Schwarzenegger.....does he look 65? Of course not...they both look at least 10 years younger. I know people in their early 40's who look older than Stallone & Arnold. People who say that HGH is bad don't know what their talking about & watch too much tv!

The government should give out free doses of HGH to its population & you'd have a cure for rising healthcare costs, i guarantee it!

p.s. Love the new avatar & for once i can say that Dallas didn't lose because of Tony Romo. He actually played a very good game, had it not been for Dez Bryant's drop in the endzone at the end of regulation time.

All true, Doc, except that it's five years remaining on the shards of a once great career.

???

Why was it a "great career". Sure he had terrific numbers, but the immediate significant fall of those numbers right after he got caught and ADMITTED to cheating proved the numbers were a FRAUD induced by the roids. Everything before 2009 now has huge asterisks as big as a house on it. The pathetic part is he could have had a very solid career because he does have enough natural talent, but he threw away every bit of integrity because he was either too insecure or too egotistical or too GREEDY to play on talent and work ethic. CHEATING does not equal great career. I'd put Rose in the HOF before A-Rod because at least Pete's playing numbers are genuine whereas Alex's numbers are all phoney pre-2009.

Let's see facts speak louder than BS. Is Jeter fragile and old?

He's out isn't he...and at the worst possible time. Did you miss the fact of the INJURY.

http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/1326680787/dailynews_display_image.jpg

Jeter was making a play to his left and as he leaned down to glove the ball, his left ankle appeared to roll. That ankle and foot have had issues for several weeks, but Girardi denied that the injuries were in any way related.

So DD, you're saying there's nothing unusual about professional ballplayers getting hurt simply moving to their left.

Did you miss the part where this has been a problem for a while...ie...fragile. This was a non-contact injury due to a persisting condition, a weakness. You also missed the part where Jeter is 38...ie...old for a ballplayer. Sure he had a very good year and played a lot. Bravo! He's one of the greatest players of all-time. He played the year with guts, skill, and integrity, especially for his age. But he's older and more fragile. Get over it.

Sorry to see Jeter injured. I hate seeing a series possibly altered due to bad refs/umps or key player injuries. I'd rather see the enemy beaten down into abject submission without excuses, which will now be abundant. The greatest victories are humiliating the enemy at their best. See 2004...

Quiet around here this evening. Boy, if I were in the middle of a deep, deep slump, I sure wouldn't want to have to try to get well against Justin Verlander.

I must admit that the playoffs won't be the same without the Yankees to cheer against. I likely will only glance at the games once in a while. I just might start missing NHL hockey!

Hey Boyz,

Nice free for all post merlot...

Translation: facts can be fun. :D

Yankee "PRIDE" no more.

http://larrybrownsports.com/baseball/robinson-cano-booed-yankees-fans-postseason-slump/158335

Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano was booed by his home fans on Sunday amid his postseason slump. The four-time All-Star ended the regular season as one of the hottest hitters in baseball, but he has been the exact opposite in the playoffs. Over the final nine games of the regular season, Cano was a scorching 24-for-39 (.615) with 11 runs, 7 doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBIs to help the Yankees win the AL East. He went 2-for-8 with two doubles in the first two games of the ALDS against the Orioles, but he’s been on a record-worst streak since then.Cano double in the first in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Orioles and has gone hitless since then. He’s a postseason record worst 0-for-26. He did have an RBI ground out in Game 4 to give the Yankees their only run that game, but that’s been it.The slump has been so bad that Yankees fans booed Cano after he grounded out against the Tigers in the eighth during a 3-0 loss in Game 2 of the ALCS. And here we thought Ka...

Booing their best hitter? Typical Yankee fans, how soon they forget. Well, with the team hitting .124 and with 38 strikeouts in the playoffs no wonder. CC can't pitch every day.

Quiet around here this evening. Boy, if I were in the middle of a deep, deep slump, I sure wouldn't want to have to try to get well against Justin Verlander.

C'mon Rumps, you sound almost as faithless as the Yankees fans. Of course Yankee hitting, if that's what it is called, has been seriously exposed by good pitchers.

If the Yanks can't hit 9-13 Anibal Sanchez they should all give back their salaries for the year.

Spent the last half hour reading a chat on the Yankees Lohud blog. Seems the Bronxoids are ready to jump off the George Washington Bridge. Get rid of Swisher. Get rid of Cano. Get rid of A-Rod. Blah. Blah. Blah. Good luck getting rid of A-Rod.

The one thing the Sox have is a future. Neither the Sox nor the Yankees have much of a present. Failure is failure is failure. There are simply different degrees.

Though maybe, just maybe, the Tigers will manage to pull a 2004 Yankees and attempt to match the biggest choke in the history of humankind.

It's shocking to me that a hitter as talented as Robinson Cano could go 0-26 and set the record for postseason futility especially after the 24-39 streak he went on to end the regular season, but he has always been a bit of a wildly streaky player and from what I see, he has been trying to do too much. He is trying to pull everything and is hitting weak ground balls, and dribblers. However, the series is not over yet, although things do not look promising at the moment. It's hard to imagine that these guys can continue to suck this bad, although if they do it will be over quickly. If the Yankees take 2 of 3 in Detroit, the series goes back to New York.

Meanwhile all 7 Yankees postseason starts have been quality starts by the starting pitchers, something nobody has really mentioned.

 Every team has a future, but a future of being a good team, aka a playoff team is at best 2-3 yrs away for the red sox, likely 4 years or more in reality. Here is hoping red sox management has learnt nothing from the past and sign Josh Hamilton to 22mil per year for 8 long years in which half will be spent on the dl, aka crawford. You have not one top starter and the rotation consists of only three #3 guys. No closer. A dh that is in decline and will be on the DL than arod and jeter combined the rest of the way. The kids that were gonna be the great saviors are simply not that good and the free agent market this off season is weak. That vaunted farm system is, well.... lets just say you might wanna become a lacrosse fan for a few years lol.

BUT!, you still have the record for sellouts in that tiny park to be proud of! Maybe they can only let super skinny guys in after all the seats are sold so the standing room only can get them to 38k per game. Enjoy the next 2-4 years rumpie!

The one thing the Sox have is a future. .

Beav, agree with everything you said. The Yanks starters have been strong but the hitters are colder than a normal late january night in Quebec City, thats COLD!

Maybe getting away from home will help.

I am really interested to see who signs Hamilton and for how much. He is a very high risk/high reward type player. I see him mainly as a stat compiler and not a winner quite frankly. I would not want him for a high price tag.

I am also curious to see what happens with Delmon Young. He is a massive underachiever, head case and sucks defensively, yet he has had postseason success and some big hits. I think BJ Upton is worth a lot more based on defense and potential, but we shall see, as he too is a head case who has underachieved.
