Where I belong.
I think Iggy has been one very misunderstood individual by many of you & that if you'd be more open-minded, you'd consider all the good he's brought to our community & that he's one of the funnyiest & most passionate individuals in the entire history of this board. I know that many of you despise the fact that he's never posted an sp review, but that is his right & i admire the fact that the man doesn't need to brag about his sexual exploits like many others do
So tell me, Doc, why should he be exempt from the rules the rest of us follow?

And, by the way, this is an escort review board. While I have been posting in the sports threads for years, my posts in the sports thread, and yours, and iggy's bring this board no good whatsoever. What brings good to this board are reviews. I write reviews, you have written reviews, others write reviews. Those who do not write reviews just suck the life blood from the board. They are leeches.

Well Boyz,

I think Iggy has been one very misunderstood individual by many...

Merb is a better board because of characters like him.

So why don't you try New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Iowa, or Washington???

...but we should all try to get along...

This coming from the one who threw a psychotic rant at Mod11 for a quote deletion because the writer didn't understand simple directions.

Those who do not write reviews just suck the life blood from the board. They are leeches.

But, he's a paying "leech"...as you say. Never mind the damn sports threads, the total lack of reviews, and his quickie posts telling others he's got backdoor info available by PM, thus exploiting this board's purpose while failing to contribute. He's got a red-letter name Rumps.

I don't know why you are bothering Rumps. Mod8 has changed his mind, and has no intention of saying why. Time to drop it, and save it for next time.

Our friend Iggy doesn't post escort reviews (and he's not alone), but he does contribute to the community in various other ways. He helps fellow members (including yours truly) with the sps he's seen & whom they should see, he gives very good advice/opinion, and he posts in many non-sports threads. There are also no rules written anywhere stating that posting escort reviews is a must. Heck, when's the last time "I" wrote a review? ;)

To be honest, i'd rather seeing someone contributing in other ways & not writing reviews than someone not contributing & writing glorious & exaggerated/questionable "self-serving" reviews all the time. I think the fact Iggy (and others) have achieved board status without the need to write glorifying anecdotes about their own sexual exploits is a sign of confidence & humility. I also believe that the women he sees appreciate the fact that he's discreet about their encounters & doesn't feel the need to tell the whole world about them. I respect that.

As long as he's not breaking the rules, i'm okay with this. The moderators will hand out the discipline whenever a member has gone astray, and if our friend Iggy hasn't been disciplined in the past (or maybe he has), it's likely because he hasn't broken any rules. However, it should not be of any concern to us. This kind of stuff is between him & the moderators.

Outside the hobby, our friend Iggy is literally a chick-magnet & he's great to be around. He knows his sports, he can talk about anything, and there are always beautiful young women around him vying for his attention. Indeed, i must admit that i may have been hit by the jealousy bug at times whenever i've seen him carousing with a pretty 'and willing' young woman holding tightly onto his arm.

Could some of the negative vibes hurled towards him have been caused by a bit of jealousy on your part? Hmmm.....inquiring minds would like to know.

Happy Easter, Merbites! :D

I will admit that this board/community does have its share of psychopaths/sociopaths, but in my case, it's simply a case of having an occasional temper. I'm honest to a fault & will call a spade a spade when i need to. I'm not always right & will admit that i'm wrong later after reconsidering situations which may have caused me to say certain things. If honesty & speaking your mind is a crime, then i must admit that i'm guilty & that i deserve punishment.

I still dream of the day when the likes of myself, Iggy, Rumples, Jman, JoeT & Merlot can attend a baseball game, and share some beer & chicken wings together. I believe that strong bonds & relationships could develop over the fact we all have one common denominator: our love for the great game of Baseball. :D

Group hug everyone, group hug! ;)

Do they really have chicken wings at Rogers Centre? Never had wings at a baseball game before but the smoked turkey legs in Arlington are awesome, and HUGE!

Doc is right, he argues with me ALL the time about sprots, politics, and other subjects as well, but we know its friendly debating back and forth and not worth getting or staying upset about things that are totally out of our control. Some of you take this stuff way to seriously, as has been said many times before.

Doc, do you have a suite this season at rogers centre? If so, lets make this happen! Count me in brah!

Yes, Doc, but he hurls insults right and left and never gets called out. And even when he does get called out, as he did last Sunday, his uncle doesn't follow up. And you'll notice that his uncle hasn't had the stones to even show up in this thread since announcing that he'd be back to ban iggy. Rumour has it that he's been too busy with his job as a construction executive in Montreal.

I totally agree with you about self-aggrandizing reviews ("You should have seen all her Os...) and borderline shill reviews, but the simple fact remains that this is a review board and without the reviews, merb would wither and die. The membership would drop and the advertisers would vanish.

See you later, guys...I've got a bike ride today...and a date with one of my favorites tonight and she can't wait to see me and Lucille yet again.

Mister 69 a.k.a. Iggy has quite a sense of humor and i wouldn't be surprised if some of you confuse his wicked sense of humor with insults. If he has replied in an insulting way (to some of you), he likely was only dishing back what had already been thrown at him. But to be honest with all of you, i've never seen Iggy say or write anything that merited discipline. Whatever happened last week in the other thread, i must have missed it, since i don't remember reading anything that warranted a suspension. However, the bottom line is that this matter is out of our hands & if the moderator(s) decides to impose discipline, it is up to them & not up to us.

As for Merb's existence relying solely on escort reviews, there is no proof of this. Personally, i don't buy it. To be honest, it is my belief that there are only a handful of reviewers that warrant being read (indeed, Rumples is one of them). Maybe it's a personal thing, who knows. There are others who's reviews i value, of course. However, there are way, way too many reviews that from my perspective, either never should have been written or leave me wondering how accurate they were and/or maybe an agency had something to do with the review, which i've seen happen many times over the years.

Of course, i'm not saying that the escort review sections aren't important. They are. They're very important. But other sections are as important to other people and why they exist. Take a look at TERB, this board's sister board which is extremely successful. The review sections are possibly the least read sections of that board.

And finally, sections other than reviewing sections also attract traffic. Over a decade ago, i was doing research for a sociology project on strippers & that's how i discovered some of the boards. Eventually, i got curious and began reading some escort reviews & got hooked. I'd even go as far as saying that many valued members of this board rarely write reviews anymore. I'm talking about the old timers, such as Eagerbeaver, Special K, Captain Renault, Ned Nobody, Voyager, yours truly & others. Rarely do you see them posting reviews anymore, however, whenever they find time to post something is appreciated & often valued.

A decrease in reviews might bring down advertising revenue, you imply. Maybe. Who knows? However, it's none of our business & we must follow our instincts and do what we want to do. Someone like Iggy may not be as good at writing reviews as say a Joe T, a Korbel, Breadman or a Cloudsurf, but he's skillful in other ways & we get to appreciate this skill.

Happy Easter everyone! :D

Gents,

If you want to sing Kumbaya and hold hands while pontificating the merits of iggy:confused:...go start a lets bow to iggy thread......better yet how about the 2 of you just get a room and share some quality time.

This is a Yankee death watch thread...what do you say we get back on subject...as they are curently in the basement of the AL East...:thumb:.

Have fun,

Jman

PS Of course if it is your plan to get the thread closed down by polluting it so badly while baiting others into posting in a manner which would bring them suspension...then you should also cease...because although he has shown blatent favoritism in the past I do believe Mod 8 is smart enough to see right through your transparent, planned co-conspired attempts.

I'm glad that you agree with me, Jman. We should all try to get along & it's nice to see that you're extending an olive branch to our friend Iggy.

But you're correct, it's time to get back to the business of things.

Yankees lose again today!! Yankees suck!!

So...you need to ask yourself the question Doc...Do I really want to play the pollute the thread game? Do you?

Because anyone can act just as childish in anyone elses threads...and where would that get us my olive branch loving pal?

Apology accepted jman. :thumb: And Doc, thanks for the kind words yesterday, but april fools was a week ago haha. But seriously, you sure can read people well, and no need for jealousy, I have heard over and over how the ladies you have seen think the world of you and are glad you called them.

Yes jman, the Yanks so far suck, as does your team, but "thats why they play 162" ;)

PS, Is a death watch thread that was started in spring training before the season even started really a thread that should exist this early in the season? I could see it maybe after the all star break but in march/april? Why not just do a free for all and a official MLB season thread like Hockey has? Anyways, it is kind of silly when only 3 games have been played so far.

Great thread!

I vote that this great thread be renamed "The Official 2012 New York Yankees/Boston Red Sox Death Watch" thread. Please?? :eyebrows:

On another note, one thing i'm sure of: "What the heck is wrong with Red Sox pitching?" Just weeks ago, the merb pundits claimed that their pitching was sound & that once again, this was the team to beat in the east. Sure, my hero, Carl "The Truth" Crawford still hasn't played in a single game, but geez.....how can this team win when it allows just under 9 runs a game???

Oh yeah...Yankees still suck.

LOL,

Just more of Doc's nonsense instigation.

Do you live on BS. Jman has barely posted. Rumps maybe made some positive claims, but nothing that far. Neither SK or I have said one word.

Joe and Iggy staked out the title precisely for the Yankees before the exhibition season.

FEBRUARY 15, 2012:

Prediction for the AL East.

1- Yankees.
2- Blue Jays.
3- Tampa.
4- Boston(Sorry rumples, but the Red Sox have too many question marks)
5- Baltimore.

Should be a exciting season for us Yankee fans.

I think your spot on...and your predictions for the AL East are the exact way i see them...

But then Iggy said the Leafs would make the playoffs.

This is as deep a starting rotation as the Yanks have had in quite some time to go along with an awesome bullpen. We already know how good a lineup the Bombers have. Could be a very special season in the boogie down bronx this year.

How's that tough pitching going. ;)

Hello everyone,

Having Death Watch threads started at the beginning of the season serves no purpose other than to inflame tempers which carries over into other threads. There is now a free for all thread for everyone to let off some steam but that is the only thread for that purpose until the season has reached a point where a death watch thread appears to be valid due to a team's poor performance during the season and their position in the standings warrants it.

The Red Sox death watch thread was closed previously and now this one will join it.
