Scott Foster...36-year-old...accountant. He made seven saves, no goal and played 14 minutes. An evening he will never forget....a dream came true.....congrats.

Listen to his post game interview, hilarious! haha

It's a rare accomplishment, in this era, for a player to spend their entire playing career with only one team. I wonder if they'll make it into the hall of fame.

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about the Sedins and how one of them was repeatedly punched in the face by Brad Marchand when the Bruins played the Canucks in the Stanley Cup final, but that the Sedin did not retaliate. I remember that scene and how it went on to somewhat define Marchand as well as the Sedins. This also reminded me of a similar incident between Ryan White and Guillaume Latendresse back when we competed in the playoffs. White was yanking Guillaume around and Guillaume, despite outweighing White by 20-30 pounds, seemed to be shaking in his boots. I think that contributed to Ottawa not resigning him.

Then it was Canucks management that was stupid for not sending someone out the next shift to teach that piece of shit a lesson . Do you really expect the Sedin to drop the gloves ?

Would you expect Gretzky to have defended himself ? That’s why Dave Semenko was around

A friend of mine was in Philadelphia for the Flyers-Bruins game Easter Sunday (an afternoon matinee), with tickets a few rows off the ice, near where referees report penalty and other calls to the official scorers through a hole in the glass. From what I heard one of the refs must have had a reservation for dinner after the game, because with 3 seconds left in regulation, the Bruins scored a goal to tie the game 3-3, and the ref groaned aloud, "awwwww shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The Flyers then won the game 4-3 in OT on a goal by Giroux, much to the delight of my friend, a Philadelphia native and lifelong Flyers fan.

From what I have heard if you are in Philadelphia for hockey game or other sporting event, the two premiere Philly Cheesesteak purveyors are Pat's and Geno's. This is actually the city where the Philly cheesesteak was invented.

I didn’t make a value judgment about what that Sedin did. I just said that both players (rightly or wrongly) subsequently became associated with that altercation and perhaps even became defined by it.

Should Daniel Sedin have dropped the gloves? I would argue that he should not since Marchand had not dropped his. Marchand grabbed Sedin’s jersey with one gloved hand and punched him with that same hand. It was pretty humiliating. Should Sedin have defended himself or broken free? Absolutely!

I loved the Bettman joke posted by tiga but i'm starting to wonder if Quebec really deserves to have another NHL team. They had one in the past & it failed. Why should they be granted another NHL franchise when it's likely to wind up in failure once again?

Many teams in any sports were granted back a team after a failure. That is not the issue.

The issue is economical power and hockey interest as a sport of the city and surroundings to make a team viable. There are 4 teams that did not get over 13k in average attendance this year. A number Quebec city can match easily. Out of these 4 teams Florida, Arizona and Carolina are in trouble because let's face it, who really cares about hockey in those areas? No doubt Quebec city can have a viable team.

That said I know the league view Quebec city as a minor candidate for expansion and/or to relocate a team. Betman and the league have their eyes set on Seatle, Kansas City and Houston before Quebec city. They want to 'force' hockey as a sport in those areas... Is it the correct strategy?

Cheers,

I doubt that a second NHL team in the GMA could work. It simply wouldn't benefit from the kind of unconditional support that the business community gives to the Canadiens. A team in Quebec City on the other hand, would be both economically viable and appreciated by fans throughout Quebec. Even the Canadiens would likely be more motivated to assemble a better team and organisation than the one we see now.

The way i see it.....the only way i see Quebec City winding up with an NHL team in the near or distant future is if they wind up with the Ottawa Senators. If the Sens remain in Ottawa i'd kiss Quebec's chances of winding up with an NHL team as near zero.

I think Quebec's chances of getting a team would increase if Bettman were gone. On another note, the Hab's tank job didn't go well tonight against Detroit.
