Where I belong.
From you tone, Rumps, you come across as one condescending _____________ . (fill in the blank with an adverb of your choice). lggy know a lot more about hockey (just like baseball) than you, but even if he didn't, as I am theorizing here only, you shouldn't talk down to others, rumps.
Sorry you think that, DD. I was just giving him instructions on how to interpret the hockey standings. It's pretty clear he doesn't know how they're influenced by one team's having played many more games than other teams.

Also, an adverb wouldn't work in the space you left. One would want a noun there.

You are correct. It would be a noun. You have one? I can think of many.

From "Tough Guy - My Life on the Edge" by Bob Probert:

Probie's Top 10 Thoughts on Stevie Y:

1."There was something about Stevie Y that I liked. I can't put my finger on it, but he had that quality only a few guys have - one that would make you step up for him. Maybe it's called leadership."

2. "Stevie Y was a pretty straight shooter, and when I would do something that got in the news like this, he'd give me this look...But he would step up for me over and over again."

3. 'Stevie and I were friends. He was a nice guy. Really nice, classy guy. He genuinely cared about his teammates."

4. "I think playing with Stevie was like playing with Joe Sakic, but Stevie was a lot more outgoing and more business-minded than Joe."

5. "I was amazed at the talent Stevie had. For his size, as opposed to a Lemieux, he was unparalleled."

6. "Stevie would do anything for the team. That's why he was such a great leader. He'd go down and block shots...He'd go into the corners. He'd do whatever it took to win...That's amazing when you are a fifty-goal scorer and you are told to go on the checking line - and you do it."

7. "The second thing was that I didn't like what a couple of my teammates said. Steve Yzerman stepped up for me. But some of the others, they were brutal."

8. "Stevie was awesome. He never said anything really bad."

9. "I think if a guy's got the balls to stand up to somebody, whether they get the shit kicked out of them or not...it shows the rest of the players that this guy wants to win bad enough to go out there and get his ass kicked. Yzerman did it."

10. "Stevie made his speech and the crowd went crazy. I was really happy for him. He meant a lot to the club and deserved all the praise. I was really proud to be part of Stevie's night."

Probie's Thoughts on Mike Illitch:

1. "Mike Illitch, the owner of the Red Wings, came up to see me..and took me out for lunch. Mr. I said he wanted to see how I was doing. He told me the team was behind me and they would try to help me out as much as possible...Mr. I stepped up on my behalf...I had the utmost respect for him. He stood by my side."

2. "Mr. Illitch was a great guy to work for, whether it was as a Little Caesar's pizza maker or as a player. If a guy wanted to help himself and needed his support and guidance, Mr. I would show up."

And now...just in case you thought Probie liked EVERYBODY, here are his thoughts on Burkie:

"Brian Burke, who's the Leafs GM today, was the NHL's senior vice-president and director of hockey operations...The whole thing was a joke. There was no hearing, no real discusssion. Burke suspended me for four games for trying to stop a guy from taking my head off...As far as I could tell, Burke was making it up as he went along. I told Cynthia Lambert from the Detroit News: This guy's a disgrace to the league...Scotty Bowman told Lambert: ...if I were Bob Probert, I'd get myself a lawyer."

Actually, the Leafs played well against the bruins tonight, much more so than the score shows (one was a empty netter) hitting the post 3 times and only timmy the GREAT ONE thomas could save the bruins .... great game really and the Leafs have really come a long way since the 2 blowouts earlier in the season to bOston. Even tho the Leafs lost, i was pleased with the effort.. that kind of effort will get them to the postseason. And mErlow, you could not be more bandwagon  keep up the good work :thumb:

I assume after MAKING you follow hockey, you should be able to at least name half your players by now........now now now, no cheating! :nono: Bwhahahaahahahahaahah

Hey Fellow REAL Hockey Fans,

On the positive side, you have to commend the Leafs for closing the gap in the last meeting from 7 to 3. :D

Boston 6 Toronto 3; Bruins Alone In First Place. :thumb:

Well, it was a close game for a while. The Bruins let the Leafs think they could play with them for a couple of periods then showed the Leafs who the real class of the division is by burying the Leafs in the 3rd period...IN TORONTO. This was game 13 in a row where the Stanley Cup Champions have not lost in regulation. Now with the Bruins alone in first place in the Northeast division the leafs face a second game against the Bruins in Boston having been unable to get closer than 3 goals down in all three games head to head.

Actually it was a good and close game for a while. But the Leafs just weren't able to hold on for all three periods, even at a time when Toronto has been playing fairly well and winning against some good teams. It would seem to show Boston is really just that much better.

Cheers,

Merlot

I wonder if Merlow will say Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito as 2 of the Bruin players?

So you weren't kidding earlier? Lol. Oh well, not that I didn't expect it.

Seemed to me like the B's outplayed the Leaf's by a substantial margin this evening and got the W that they deserved, even after Thomas let up an absolutely horrendous goal with 13 minutes left in the 3rd.

On a side note it's nice to see the Habs continue their losing streak as they drop below .500!! Look out BELOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It certainly was one of the more one-sided games I've seen lately, one good old fashioned ass-kicking as the mediocre Leaves drop to 6th place in the conference in the de facto standings. One thing I don't understand is why all the empty seats? It looked like Yankee Stadium in the AC Center. Was there a major storm in TO or are the people of the GTA unaware that these are the "new" Cubs, er, I mean, Leaves.
