The article I link below is dated Jan. 20, 2017 at 12:19 p.m. EST, which means Trump had the who!e 19 minutes after his inauguration to reach out to Democrats. Yes Gaby, everyone knows that the corrupt Republicans will once again fail in their duty, just as they did a year ago when they stubbornly refused to convict Trump for his obviously impeachable actions.

Due to their failure that time, Trump became even more emboldened...up to the point where he almost succeeded in stealing an election and overturning American democracy.

If the Republicans had done the right thing the first time, Officer Sicknick would probably still be alive. Trump's attempted coup would not have occurred and the treasonous right-wing loonies who invaded the Capitol in their attempt to steal the election for Trump would not have murdered the police officer. Let's hope that when the Republicans AGAIN fail to uphold their Constitutional oaths and AGAIN fail to convict Trump the consequences are not as shameful and deadly as they were the last time.
