The losers are the Republicans.

Rebuilding a party is hard. Paying Trump off so you don't have to go through a civil war makes a certain amount of sense.
He fucked over their governing majority, sure. But he got them the tax cut and the judges; their rhetoric and grievance politics work better in the minority anyway; and if they can keep control at the local level and fuck over voting they are pretty safe. Even as a powerful regional party they can have a good life. Most of them don't want to govern anyway.

She is very correct in stating that his scientific ignorance was a big problem for her, Dr. Fauci, and of course the entire country. Remember when Trump said COVID-19 is a democratic hoax.

If he had been a true ex-president, he would have been vaccinated in public.
