funny, I can't think of anything I really miss. Is that weird? But this thread does make me feel like I should live a bit more due to all the "youth" comments.

Another thing, some of the things listed can really still be had, like having no cell phone, that's a choice. Also, nintendo and playing Punch Out. That's what ebay is for.

One thing I've noticed, being here in Montreal for 7 years now. The stores I'm used to a closing up one by one and they aren't being replaced by another store. The store is either empty or the entire building gets turned into a condo. I feel like that's the sign of the times... People don't need to buy things, but they still need to live somewhere. It's somewhat depressing actually.

Hostess Twinkies are still made aren't they? They're not available *here* tho.

You are correct. I though when Hostess filed for bankruptcy they stopped making Twinkies but I saw Hostess Twinkies in a local supermarket today (Connecticut is where I live). I guess the bankruptcy trustee told them to keep selling the Twinkies because that is the only Hostess product making any money.

I don't miss any "thing" or experience in particular. I just miss the feeling of wonderment or strong feelings of excitement I had when I was in my early 20s. Everything was new. Now, things seem more tempered and neutral compared to what they used to be. Kind of a blur. The feeling that the world was my oyster to discover isn't quite the same. There are many things that get better as I get older. However, that deeper sense of experiencing the present moment (feeling vivedly alive) has seemed to somewhat fade, except for brief flashes. Maybe it can return?

club grand prix in marieville bros

I have brought this up a few times. I went to this club on my inaugural trip to Montreal May 2001. We couldn't believe it. I was like we found Shangri la! I will never forget that night.

Other things I miss:

1. Visiting Montreal 4-8 times/year for legitimate business reasons.

2. Being able to run 5 miles in less than 35 minutes.

3. Size 36/38 waist

4. holding one of my children when they were cute babies. Taking them for walks. Pushing them on swing sets taking them for ice cream etc. Going on vacations with them - everything was so exciting through thier young eyes.

5. All the girl friends I used to have. The sex was fun, new, and exciting.

6. Hunting and fishing with my dad..going to baseball games.

7. Playing competitive baseball.

8. The big 3 in the Auto Industry booming and good jobs were plentiful for anyone who wanted to work.

On our list trip to Montreal, Chercherfemmes and I reminisced about the "Canada For Sale" days (2002-2005) when the US dollar fetched between $1.50 and $1.60 Canadian, and we were like little kids in a big candy store. Those days are so over.

There is nothing that can compare with your first time. My first time to Montreal I went to Grand Prix. The first time I descovered MERB and I had ordered in Montreal outcall GFE from Devilish the first day and Xxxtase the second day. My trip to a Termas in Rio or a FKK in Germany....I go back and it is still good but I cannot acheive the same "high" as my first visits.

Hey guys you're talking like if hobbying like was an addiction...« cannot achieve the same high », « strong feelings of excitement », etc.....

I consider hobbying as a sport: the more I practise it it the more I'm able to obtain more for less effort.
Each time I go back to São Paulo, the better is my experience.

What I'm missing from the past: talking with a real phone operator! :help:

I wasn't even referring to hobbying really. I still get that same excitement quite frequently, as I did in the beginning. I was more talking about life in general.

One thing I do not miss is hairy pussy...yuk. If you guys want that just head over to China. You will find providers with hairy muffs. I love shaved pussy.

I miss the days when air travel was fun. Getting through the airport was hassle free (No TSA). I miss the DC9's that were replaced with the Canadian Regional jets CRJ 200's. It Seems like 90% of the flights I take are on the 50 seater CRJ's without a first class seating area. If you wanted to change your flight there was always another flight with plenty of seats.

This sounds like addiction bro. When you begin chasing sexual highs then you have real problem at hand. Talk to your doctor.

For some it can be.

Actually, it's quite the reverse. We're wired to enjoy sex, which is a high except for the repressed and the frigid. If you're NOT chasing sexual highs, you have a real problem.

okay.

And just as a heroin addict chases a substance-induced high, sex addicts are bingeing on chemicals — in this case, their own hormones, says Alex Katehakis, a licensed family and sex therapist and the clinical director of the L.A.-based Center for Healthy Sex.

http://www.marieclaire.com/sex-love/relationship-issues/women-sex-addicts

Some experts regard sexual addiction as a medical form of clinical addiction, directly analogous to alcohol and drug addictions

In someone with addiction, the circuitry becomes dysfunctional such that the message to the individual becomes ‘more’, which leads to the pathological pursuit of rewards and/or relief through the use of substances and behaviors

Earle has argued that neurochemical changes, similar to an adrenaline rush in the brain, temporarily reduce the discomfort an individual experiences with urges and cravings for sexualized behaviors that can be achieved through obsessive, highly ritualized patterns of sexual behavior

According to the DSM-5 (the clinical tool of the APA [American Psychiatric Association] that will be released in May 2013) behavioral addiction is now considered as a new pathology - or mental dirsorder.

There's a lot of difference between hobbying for the fun, the sheer pleasure it brings and seeing escorts as a symptom of a deep rooted behavioral addiction.

To a rational being, what you say is quite true.

wonderful learning experience. Now that we've understood what the problem is with chasing a sex high, our next classroom session should focus on acceptance. Who thought that one day Merb was going to become an indispensable tool in helping to save lives. I'm in awe.
