Am I the only one who wonders why people rush on toilet paper and not on Kleenex? It's a flu, not a gastroenteritis???

What the hell caused this? Where fo people get this idea?

Seems to hv begun in Hong Kong after China’s lockdown. There was a face mask shortage and rumors began spreading that toilet paper production was being diverted towards face masks factories.

Not even the same raw materials used but as with all enduring urban myths, it’s somewhat plausible and draws strength from fear & panic.

However there is a genuine worldwide face mask shortage and insufficient domestic production in Canada & US. Since Covid-19, most countries have banned the export of face masks, preserving them for domestic usage only. Expect to see much diplomatic squabbling over this now highly precious commodity.

I was speaking of this with someone, why are peoples jumping on Papier Q? I mean as much as it would be inconvenient to run out of it, you can always do it "old school". After all before 1900 i don't think it even existed...

I would be more scared to run out of foods personally if the world shutdown completely...

In a panicked world that people need to focus on particular items to reach clarity, we give you toilet paper. The mind works in mysterious ways, when the media started to promote the virus, people needed to find comfort and their focus was directed towards toilet paper, it has no significant purpose other then to ease the mind, and of course to wipe your ass. Its like the movie Mile 22 with Mark Wahlberg, he needs to snap that rubber band to take his focus off his violent tendencies( short version) and so toilet paper became the focus, its a domino effect, everyone followed. The media talks about it every chance they get, its like they are promoting the act of going out and buying toilet paper.

As for me, my focus is to not give this virus any more attention as per say then it needs. I have asthma, allergies and i am not a young man (by numbers at least), i have a pump and use nasonex on a regular basis, so i am maybe in the higher percentage of risks if i do run into this virus, but a bus almost hit me the other day also, so yeah wow, things are looking up.

I will use precautions but im not going to change my routines, i have a tee time this morning(indoor golf) and i will keep it, 18 holes and a pitcher of beer later i will enjoy my day.

Enjoy your day ladies and gentlemen, we dont know how many we have left. And listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-diB65scQU

Peace out

Better for the mob to fight over toilet paper than to falsely accuse and attack minorities for causing this epidemic..... as has happened in the past before there was toilet paper.

I was in Big Y tonight and noticed that the toilet paper/paper towel/paper tissue aisle was dead empty, as it was this past weekend at a different Big Y in the next town.

When the economy collapses, and the money become worthless all trade is resorting to barter. You need to accumulate some commodity to survive. It can be toilet paper or tuna cans, or alcohol, etc.. It makes sense. People have instincts.
