Gotta love Montreal
There shouldnt be any discount for any type of reviews... Objective or not... This board shouldnt get corrupted by any way. And agencies shouldnt push costumers to review...

Is anyone really surprised?

There will always be someone wanting to take advantage of someone else's reputation to hitch a ride on. Look at any product in advertising / endorsements... How can anyone be surprised?

I'd like to think as a community we manage to smell most of the rats that make it here. if a girl decides to offer whatever in exchange of whatever that's between them. But let's be honest... If she's any good she will soon realize that she didn't have to and hopefully will learn from it (her right of passage I guess). If the review is full of shit... both will get nuked for it (hopefully). Who doesn't enjoy a good banning from time to time? It's the modern day witch hunt.

Honestly, I'm more annoyed by members that don't share at all or withhold negative experiences.

If a gem is discovered I'm just happy she made it here and hope she sees we're not all classless sleezy cheapskates.

I think a practice that would be interesting is agencies asking clients to write an objective review for a discount (ie: 180$/h instead of 200$/h). This would give visibility to the agency and would incite more people to write reviews. However, it would be hard for the agency to make sure the person did write the review, so it'd have to be a discount on the next session or something of the sort.
Interesting. I remember there is a place in Sao Paul called Espaceo Morumbi that has that policy. Write a review and they discount your nextr visit by 20R$.

Yep. we can smell the rats. And yes, the biggest problem is guys that don't review or are afraid to write a negative review.

Merlot, I too agree with you, and from many years of doing it the right way, as you defined it, I can tell you in the long run those methods work the best. I just posted a review this morning of an RDV I had with the Fabulous Zoë that I waited 5 weeks for! Merb is a great board and while there will always be assholes (the good Lord must have loved them, he made so many of them) the majority of merb members, both clients and providers are honest and thoughtful people. The assholes normally get recognized quickly and dealt with in some way. Discussions like this are a great way to let people know what most of us think about it and help to define what asshole-ish behavior is. I am not really an idealistic person, I have been around too long, but I do know that being honest, polite, caring, and understanding with SP’s (as well as any other people you deal with) usually gets you the same treatment in return. Naturally, the opposite behavior will get you the opposite treatment. One normally gets what they deserve, at east we can hope that is true. I hope, perhaps naively, that any assholes that are out there are reading this discussion thread!

Bingo! I have met some amazing human beings off this board, some i call my best friends now, both men and women. And you are right T2010, it is very easy to weed out the bad apples so to speak.

5 weeks?? Wow you are dedicated lol but then again I see it was Zoe who you waited for, nuff said :)

I think the only time i pre booked that far in advance was for a 6 hour get together with the famous Karyna Klein, so i know the feeling of anticipation.

Look behind you.
My thoughts.
First off any member who requests this from a SP should be exposed. Second why let the SP know you are a member? Third, if you have 1000 sq ft of wall to paint from dark to light how many gallons of primer and how many gallons of paint should I buy.

Personally when I meet a girl I don't really talk about merb and it never occurs to me that one could use the review as a way to get discount or in that case trying to see another sp. For my self I just want to let know how my encounter with the girls I see went to you guys can make an idea for your future fun time. I just hope there's not too many guys doing that out there it's not a good thing for this community.

Zoe is a really great women and using her friend to try yo see her before other that have been patiently waiting there opportunity is just lame. I don't think that using this tactics really work I would love to be able to see her sooner than wait a month for my prebooking but using tactics like that is just stupid I just hope she know who this guy is and that she doesn't see him anymore. She should tell us who it is so we know.

Yeah, I'm very shy about making any negotiation. Whatever discounts I have received were being offered to everyone like a little off for the second or following hours. I ask the ladies or agencies what they are charging and that's usually it. Sometimes I naturally hesitate and the booker makes a discount offer. That's as much dickering as there ever is. So I'm a poor negotiator at all in this hobby, and going so far as even thinking about using a review for leverage would be well beyond me.

First off any member who requests this from a SP should be exposed.

Good luck with that. Some familiar name pretenders are said to be involved. Besides, proof comes from the agencies or Indies. If they aren't exposing them.......:noidea:

Cheers,

1. Agreed 100% amigo.

2. I used to get asked once in awhile a few years ago if i was on Merb, if not the subject rarely came up. If asked i would say my handle but if not then whats the point?

3. Are you having some of that famous cereal you like today?

You will get about 400 square feet of coverage/gallon if you buy good paint. One coat of primer and 2 coats of regular paint should do it. You can do the math.

I am more into Debutante market and this is indeed very usual that I hear stories about Merbist that use their merbist status (Power?!) to negociate something with the girls.

I heard MANY stories from girls about Merbists that promess a BAD review if they don't get what they want.
Obviously, because of all this, many good/bad reviews are actually Fake.
I've been told that some agencies offer some freebies/rebates in exchange of good reviews.
I've been told that some agencies will ban you if you dare to write a bad review of their girls.

So... To review or not to review, that is the question. To rely on reviews or not to rely to reviews? that is another good question :)

Eventually, we get to know/suspect the Merbists that are not fair and/or that are into these practices and I usually skip their reviews.

thanks, I was thinking of 2 coats primer because going from dark green to egg shell white....

It can be hard being new and not understand the industry. I was lucky to have friends in the industry when I got in but if you dont girls can very easily be taken advantage of. Tools like this is exploitative and destroy the entire purpose of reviewing. If you only review for a fee then clients get gake reviews and girls are taken advantage of. Its a lose lose for everyone but theu guy posting these bribe reviews.
that being said it hasn't ever happend to me so I'd like to think it's very uncommon.

A guy who thinks he's a superstar and thinks he deserves discounts because of his ego. OMG. Sounds like something I've read before like..."anything can be negotiated". Where did I read that some time ago? Hmmm.

Cheers, ;)

I MUST see the results if you had more than one "bowl" this morning

As far as what UBob says about many reviews being hard to tell if real or fake, i agree and we have to take them with a grain of salt.

Cereal is the best part of the day, I am also painting every wall in my house.
