I am afraid that no matter how bad it gets that MAGA voters will never leave trump. It's independent voters in 6 or 7 swing states that decide presidential elections. Independent voters have already abandoned trump. He is not running again - he is either a lame duck or president for life depending upon what happens these 3 years. Congressional elections in 2026 will be interfered with by trump and losing results not accepted. It's already bad and it's going to get so much worse.

If so, l suspect hundreds if not thousands suicides will happen for those who will be forced to watch the whole speach !
So I'm not a Trump fan, and never voted for him. However, the Biden presidency and covid shutdown, wealth transfer and infringement on rights were the darkest period I have ever seen in politics and we will pay for the inflation they caused for decades.

Ever since I've been able to vote at the tail end of the Clinton administration, I've been interested in politics. Presidents come, presidents go (some choose to try in power by falsely claiming rampant voter fraud) but typically the transition is usually routine with little fanfare from the voters. Which is why it's utterly remarkable to see people in several cities celebrating when the 2020 election was finally called for Biden. That's how toxic Trump is.
It should NOT be partisan to find Trump unqualified, ignorant, cruel or an asshole, yet it is (or perhaps that he embodies those qualities is what makes him attractive to some). So if people were openly celebrating his defeat, just imagine the celebration when he corpses out.
Trump is going to be buried in New York, but the back of the line to piss on his grave will be in Alaska.

I really don’t care who pisses on his grave or who doesn’t as a Canadian and what he is doing to Canada he is about as unpopular as ever a US president was and unfortunately it reflects on the people who elected him also.

I followed a little American politic when presidents were normal humans with normal behavior. Even Trump in his first term.
I laughed when he suggested using disinfectant and ultraviolet on Americans infected with COVID 19 while scientisme in the took triés To hier behind their chairs.

Don't look at me. I often say that I've never voted for Trump and never will, but I can give someone a break in 2016 if they did. Within 2 years of his first term (far sooner but I'm in a generous mood), it was apparent that the troll voters got on that first campaign trail was the same troll as president. There was a period where people thought the seriousness of being a United States president would transform him. A decade in and that transformation hasn't happened.
So much has happened and been said that it's amazing Trump has one fan left, to say nothing of millions. Which is why I also say this part often too: Trump is a symptom of the problem, not the problem. Yesterday at my gym, the Mexican guy who barely speaks any English came in again in his MAGA cap (you read that sentence correctly the first time). Even after so many broken promises that affect people who voted for him, even after being dodgy as hell on assaulting minors (with at least one person telling the FBI she was assaulted as a minor), that guy has no shame or guilt wearing that cap. How can someone reason with a person like that? Why should have we to TELL someone shielding child abusers or abusing them yourself is wrong? Why?!
So, yes you are correct that voting Trump in again is an own-goal. The world should not have to share our mistakes because they didn't vote for Trump (which is a slight shame because even well before last year Trump's popularity is greatest in America and not great outside it). But thanks to the messed up Republican Party abdicating its duties, you are dealing with our mess.
