A fucking National collective cutting off of the nose to spite one's face!

Obviously not a big fan but I hope for the country's and the world's sake that he understands his responsibilities and cannot govern with mindless tweets and insults. We'll see....no choice but to give him chance at this point.

To be continued....

Well Salty they were both lying POS's, just lying about different things.

Too many voters were desperate for change, and had little or nothing to lose.

Benghazi, Brexit, foreign affairs mean little to people with no job and no hope.

Sometimes any change is a change for the better.

While I fully expected Clinton to win.....I hedged my bet yesterday and sold blue chip stocks to buy gold.
Another Brexit type surprise....except to Michael Moore.

Hey Iggy +1 for me !!!

I sure hope he really does flush the swamp ..... . In our modern democracy, when we commit crime, we go to jail. This rule should apply for everybody, even a Secretary of State. Don't you guys think ? I'd vote for the reopening of her case. I believe democracy has spoken and congratulations to the winners !

I sold my stocks after brexit. Dont't get me wrong, I never expected Trump to win, but I had a strange feeling... Fucking happy I did.

I am now evaluating to buy back stocks, as it might actually be a good time to buy (but I may be totallly wrong). I already bought today mexican pesos (it plundge 20%), I am betting it will come back soon ;)

Cheers,

First surprise for me is that Trump won. Second surprise is that North American markets are up this morning and gold, while slightly up....didn`t go thru the roof. It looks like most people and governments are willing to give Trump a chance.

It's still very early & Trump only takes over in January.

I really do hope that the market doesn't crash. The last thing the world needs right now is a global recession.

That's just it. He's totally clueless about running a government, having never worked in government or served the public. I really hope that the people advising him put the right people in place whenever they'll chose the cabinet. I hope there's no place for the likes of Newt Gingrich & Rudy Giuliani, but i'm pessimistic. Oh boy!

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republicain. There're the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie and they'd still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific.
----Trump, People Magazine, 1998

Well we need to give credit to the guy, he knew what he was doing :)

Of course he knew what he was doing. That's why he switched parties in the first place. He saw an opportunity and grabbed it.

I was totally shocked by what happened last night. I have never experienced anything like it. I believe that my life has been changed for the better.

I really hope that you're right. My gut tells me that every single American's life will be worse off after Trump's election. People who were struggling financially will struggle more. Many expect millionaires and billionaires to gain from this election, but i'm not so sure anymore. If his election leads to a global recession (or worse!), even the very wealthy will suffer, which is why Wall Street feared a Donald Trump presidency.

But again, i hope you're right in that your life will have changed for the better. Let's revisit this a couple of years from now.

I've never been so ashamed of human beings in my life. Especially Americans. They have chosen someone who is unequivocally a piece of sociopathic TRASH. Like those who supported him he is utterly bereft of ANY decent human qualities.

The alt right created this guy. They own this. And now we're all stuck with him.

Now i wonder if he'll last his whole term. I have no doubt he wanted to be president for bragging rights, but i don't know why he'd want all the bullshit that comes along with the job. Sure, many expect him to take a step back and let Mike Pence run the country, but it would be so unlike Donald Trump to do this. I've heard from a few Republicans in the past that he'd likely get impeached within the first year in office, but i can't see this happening with the Republicans also owning congress and the senate.

I'm curious at how many promises he'll keep. How many past executive orders he'll reverse or try to. I'm fearful he'll do a lot of damage to this great country. Is he the anti-Christ that Nostradamus warned us about centuries ago?

Alright, the election is finally over so this will likely be my last post in this thread. Time to turn the page and move on.

One more thing:

Today would be a good time for Donald Trump to finally release his taxes. :D :D :D

This thread is about Trump not Justine Trudeau...... I know I was not going to post again but could not pass this one up.

One last thing....

Congratulations to Vladimir Putin & Julian Assange on their election win. They were responsible more than anyone or anything else for last night's election results.

By the way, Hillary Clinton did win the popular vote. Were it not for the Electoral College, she would have been elected President.

And it's often a change for the worse. I hope it isn't the case now. But i'm not very optimistic things will get better. I'm bracing for the worse.

You have to look at this from the point of view of someone who has lost everything and has nothing left to lose. People who have seen Presidents come and go, Republicans and Democrats come and go but nothing has improved for the guy at the bottom.

There are two choices:
Hillary=more of the same
Donald=things might get better but they cannot get worse

We are very very lucky to be able to indulge in a $300 an hour pastime. Or make $300 an hour. Not everyone has it so good.

I am no Trump fan but understand his appeal.

Not really. I think Trump won because there are two layers of dislike for Hillary, one on a personal level and another for what she represents which is the selling of influence to special interest groups. Many friends I spoke to including those like me who did not vote agreed that an outsider not beholden to special interest lobbies had to come in and shake things up. We questioned whether Trump was the right outsider guy and thought Sanders might be better equipped to stage that revolt and reject the special interests. But the one good thing that comes out of this is that the message has been sent, populism is back and the selling of influence to special interests is not what most Americans want. No choice now but to give Trump a chance. My life is not going to change that much.

And it's a lock that Hillary like Boehner will go to work for some lobbyist and sell her influence some more as if she has not whored it enough already. It's all about "show me the money" ........when is enough going to be enough? My guess is never.
