Excellent question. Since there is no federal vaccine passport will Canada be ok with using the passport app Excelsior like in NY or some other database. Maybe the fed will have access to your vaccination status the same way Nexus or Global has access to states DMV records.

They just did the press conference. They did not talk about New Yorkers but they talked about people from Ontario. He said the details were being flushed out but people from the outside the province will be able to submit proof of vaccination from their province and get a Quebec QR code which is what will be used in restaurants, bars and gyms. I suspect it will be similar for you. Sounds like it's a one time process done online.

I used to fly from Detroit for weekends of fun. Air Canada had a cheap nonstop from Windsor. Looks like the average price for a girl has gone up to 250 CAD nowadays (So 200 USD). Finding a girl like what I will get in MTL will set me back 500 to 1000 USD here in Detroit.

If you're fully vaccinated, you don't have to take the exit COVID test, but everyone needs a COVID test upon entry regardless of vaccination status.

I'm in Montreal right now. If you're flying, be prepared for delays because the airlines are currently understaffed. I couldn't find a single direct flight, so I had to go through Toronto. Toronto customs is usually a breeze because so many people pass through. But this time, they asked extra questions. Aside from the obvious COVID stuff (show vaccination card, negative test) she asked to see my hotel reservation, which no one has ever asked. But despite the indirect flight, flight delays and a tad more probing, the hassle has been worth it. Just to see so many beautiful women on the street alone, to say nothing of the amazing agency women makes it all worth it.

I looked that up a few times and I believe it's one of the restrictions they did away with. But I looked it up again and you're correct. I had also looked up a testing center near my hotel when I thought it was necessary. It also appears there are rapid tests available at the airport. I'm probably subconsciously sabotaging myself so I can stay here forever.

Edit: a shout out (and also boo cuz now I have to leave) to Great Waloo for not letting me get stranded in Canada. I took a traveler's COVID test to get here. The COVID test administered by the Quebec government might not provide enough information for the airline, so instead you're referred to some private labs linked at the following website. Several options are available, from same-day testing at airport from Biron Health to Medfuture Clinic coming to you. It's a pain in the ass either way, but it's a small price to pay so I can actually enjoy life.

I traveled in Europe a few weeks ago, COVID tests to return to the U.S. were free at the railway station in Germany and about $25 at the airport in Kiev. Are there similarly cheaper options in Canada?

i am glad that i am driving to montreal and wont have to take a re-entry covid test before driving back to the us. however, i have not left for montreal yet because i am waiting on my results from my entry covid pcr test. this has turned out to be a real pain. i took one at the cvs drugstore-- they advertised a turnaround of 1-2 days, however in practice they take more than 72 hrs, so no good. i am now waiting on a covid test taken at an urgent care associated with the local hospital. this seems more reliable and i should have my results in time-- probably because they have their own testing labs rather than farming the test out as cvs does.

I would be just as interested in taking a bus since car rentals are reportedly in short supply. unfortunately, the train is still not an option.
