I use Uber quite often... nothing else but a great experience for me.
Prices these days is 1/2 of what I'm used to paying for a cab no hassles, no frustrated cabbies expecting a tip for the worst runs, no cabbies having a conversation in a foreign language, I just love it.

Hell... if this is what it takes to wake up the cab industry I'm all for it.

Give it a try... well worth it

Uber - Not so much of a good deal !

Holiday Inn Express on Ave des Hotels in Ste Foy to Archibald brewery, the one that is close to the airport.

Uber quoted 22$ to 26$

Took taxi for 16$

So, Uber can be more expensive during some time of the day. I thought they would give me a notice saying that there is high demand and the price will be more. But not a mention at all.

Can’t wait for Lyft to show up in Montreal .... . I use Lyft a lot in Toronto !

Careful guys, Uber is not necessary a better deal. Taxi pay their permit and still compete with Uber !!

A12B, actually Uber does mention that it costs more, but for a brief moment. I took an Uber on a Thursday at about midnight and it was 1.5 more, for me I felt ripped off, but I had no choice to take it. If you want a reliable taxi I use Teo, they have electric cars, they have an app where you can orde ra casr and put in your information for payment just like Uber, Teo,is a Montreal Taxi service and they are with Diamond taxi. I have used Teo many times and the service is great and you have brand new cars and some also have wifi in the car

Uber & Lyft

I am wondering if any of you have used Uber to an Incall and if yes about how long is the usual wait to go from downtown montreal to
st dennis, griffin town or out to st antoine sams incalls?
also wondering if Lyft is even available in Montreal?

On the Lyft web site only Cities from Ontario are listed.

Uber is available in Montreal.

Going from dt to st-denis can take from 5 minutes to an hour. It really depends on traffic. You can walk it in 20-25 minutes, that is what I do.

DT to Sams' incall took me 20 minutes walking also. It can easily take the same time by Uber.

The best is the subway.

So basically from downtown to the plateau (I imagine you think about Velvet ;) ) or to Sam's you take the subway unless you like to walk like me.

Cheers,

For travel times use a nav app such as google maps or waze and add another 5-10 minutes for Uber to show up.

I usually just pickup a Car2Go to incall. Car2Go can parked at any spot reserved for residents. If none are available then I take Uber.

After incall, the Car2Go I left getting to XO is usually gone so I take Uber back.

How about the caino , does the subway go to the casino?
Also because of the possible bad weather I booked a flight this trip . any ideas on getting from tredeau airport to dt?

Have you not taken Uber before? It’s same everywhere. Response time depends in how many drivers around. If it is raining/snowing cats and dogs then it will take longer to get a uber. If temperature is 10F outside, it will take longer. If it is middle of rush hour, journey time will take longer. Uber app gives you an estimate on wait and journey time.

I would just leave the neighborhoods out on where the incalls are in your prior posts (I’m sure some would say it is no big deal). Yul to downtown in order of lowest to highest cost: 747 bus, car2go, uber

from peel/sherbrook get on the green subway at Peel station line to berri-uquam, get out and get on the orange line (direction montmorency) get out at mont-royal. Walk south on st-denis. Many very nice pubs/bars in that area to spend some time after the deeds ;) That same orange subway line will get you to Sam's on the other direction.

The subway does not go to the casino. From downtown easiest is cab/uber.

From bell center to Sam's it's 3km. Average easy walking pace is 20 minutes per mile (about 3 to 4 mph). I ran many 10k run under 40 minutes in my 20's. I dont anymore but walking 3km in 20 minutes is still a pace I can do.

For me it's the same price taking Uber or a cab. I check the price Uber quote me and the taxi, it's about the same. The good thing about Uber is you don't have to wait outside in the cold and get notice when he arrives. That's all.

That's mostly why I use it when I travel in the states... That and the fact that the billing is handled automatically... And ho and the fact that I can pay the ride of my client as well. That is so appreciated you would not believe... Client is in a rush to finish the meeting to get to airport... He is stressing about getting a cab in time... You call him a uber which you can follow the arrival. Later on the client calls you back realizing you even paid the ride for him ;) Small details that shines on you later. Am I getting out of subject again??

I use Uber often. I had to use Lyft at Sturgis SD because there was an issue between the state and Uber. I believe they worked it out. But both Uber and Lyft are great to use and very convenient.

In Montreal, the Uber experience as of late has been very good. When they were initially rolled out in Montreal it was spotty. Lots of cancellations from drivers and just poor directions from the app. But now, it’s very good.

Interesting, on a trip during the summer I had an SP come to my downtown hotel and she requested that I send her an Uber.

Uber in MTL seems seamless to me, with no difference than in the States ... have found an independent sp and will send an Uber for her when she's ready ... that little extra goes a long way and she certainly shows her appreciation!!

For me, I like to keep my electronic fingerprints as far away from escorting as possible. Paranoia, probably, but I would rather give the escort an extra $20 for a cab than sending her an Uber. Also, your already paying her for outcall services, paying for an Uber shouldn’t be part of the deal.

That is what I would answer the girl too... Need to keep privacy first. As for the extra well it's a way for some indy to get a bit more...
