The border with Canada especially the NY/Quebec border will remain closed until November 21.

It's better like that, for us.
I think you are right it is better for all concerned.
We wouldn’t want Quebecers who are basically like New Yorkers of Canada mixing with certain populations in the US and we don’t need US citizens basically from any state here either, we are quite capable of fucking things up all on our own here in Quebec it seems we do not need a helping hand.

I thought Justin said the border is closed indefinitely?

It’s a month to month decision between the two countries.

Yes it is the usual monthly extension but that is the official stance.
What JT says is just political posturing.
He is scared shitless by Trump or any major politician from the US.
When they say jump he will ask how high and put on some Indian wedding garb to do it in style for a selfie.
A totally spineless clown.

It's a month to month decision which is politically expedient. Right now nobody is doing well. CT has had 1,191 new cases just since Friday. The positivity rate has gone down from last week, but the so called phase 3 opening has stalled. Jury trials were supposed to resume in November as part of a farcical plan, apparently the brainchild of the Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, with masked jurors spread throughout the Courtroom, making trials more of a Halloween party than a trial. Never mind good luck finding people who are both healthy and will want to serve under those preposterous conditions, hearing bullshit cases in which some pissant is looking for a big payday after stubbing his toe in the parking lot at Walmart.

U.S. land borders with Canada and Mexico are expected to remain closed to non-essential travel until Dec. 21 at the earliest amid a rising number of U.S. coronavirus cases, officials in Washington and Ottawa told Reuters.

The current restrictions expire on Saturday and the three countries are expected to approve another 30-day extension, the official said on Wednesday. The United States leads the world in COVID-19 cases and deaths.

Trump being beaten my hope of returning to the USA grew. But not right away, I will still be patient.

My feeling is that cross border travel restrictions will only ease when people on both sides start getting vaccinated by the millions and cases drop below 50,000 a day in the States. Not before Biden takes office.

Look behind you.
People who mention how bad the US is while Quebec is worse. The border will probably stay closed till spring the earliest.
I am still hoping to vacation in Ireland in April and visit many castles and pubs.

I have a cruise booked for beginning of March which I will cancel in the middle of December there is almost 0 chance of it taking place.
I am planning on going to Europe Sept - Oct hopefully by then we will all get vaccinated and this nightmare will be pretty much over or at least a hell of a lot safer.

I sometimes wonder how often your British humor goes straight over the heads of some of the Canadian folks here, most of whom were not fed Bennie Hill breast milk like you. Probably even me too. Now this British chap, who may very well look something like you, has a sense of humor that is on point with me in this classic scene from Lilyhammer in which he discusses what happened with his car with the Norwegian car salesman who reminds me of a more portly Doc Holliday:

I may just go to Budapest earlier than September and watch them play at home as they have now qualified for the European Cup and could even pop over to Germany as they play there against Germany. What a group to be put in, France, Germany and Portugal. The last two World Cup winners and the current Euro Cup holder. They have as much chance at two shots on goal as I do lol.

OTTAWA -- The COVID-19 travel restrictions in place at the Canada-U.S. land border are being extended another month, and will now remain in effect until Jan. 21, 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Friday.

I don’t see borders opening before early summer at best.
Hopefully by then enough people will be vaccinated on both sides to get back to some kind of normal life.
Our Hospitality industry is dying we certainly need the American visitors.

No surprise borders all over the world are continuing their shut downs. Let’s hope the vaccine(s) are the answer to opening this shit up again. My predictions for opening the border have been horribly wrong, I actually thought we’d be back in business by summer that just past. Lol. I think Fradi is probably right, nothing is going to be open until this coming summer at best. Never been a fan of Jazz music, but have always been a fan of the Jazz Festival. Summer temps, beautiful women, poutine and of course the Québécois escorts wearing minimal clothing with maximum tans!

Never been a fan of Jazz music, but have always been a fan of the Jazz Festival.

I have been to about 15 Montreal Jazz Festivals, including every year from 2002-2016, and have always though of it as more of a music festival than a "Jazz Festival" per se. None of my favorite moments at the Jazz Festival even involve Jazz Music. For example:

2005 or 2006, I saw the champion Quebec High School band deliver a stirring version of the Hawaii 5-0 Theme Song, one of the greatest theme songs in the history of TV. Is this Jazz? I don't think so:

2006, Paul Simon's band performing a free concert (actually a rehearsal for their paid indoor gig from what I could see), Mother and Child Reunion:

2009, Stevie Wonder, My Cherie Amour:

2012, Escort's Donna Summer Tribute, was entirely a disco song set on the main stage (Donna Summer passed away in May that year).
