Gilbert played on tour in the 80's with Martin Laurendeau, now Shapo's coach, and know's him well. So of course he has an eye on this kid which he is quite close to. Gilbert was instrumental to Agassi's career. Turning him from a young punk who tried to turn every as a winner shot but ended up losing all the time to a young and patient player who could then beat anyone on any giving day. Gilbert had never coach anyone before Agassi. Agassi and his brother ask him to coach as they like the book he had written about tennis. Gilbert was only 30. I am sure Gilbert sees a lot of Agassi's i Shapo.

Cheers,

Yes absolutly......Brad Gilbert --a reference in tennis in US ---said that he has eyes only for our kid and that he will b one of the best performer in the years to come......tout un hommage provenant d'un expert qui a déjà coaché AGASSI et MURRAY.

We used to hear the same thing about Genie Bouchard and look how she turned out.

We used to hear the same thing about Genie Bouchard and look how she turned out.

Since he is early 18 what we hear is even much more impressive that what we heard about Genie at same age.

To this day no Canadian girl has done better then Genie. Not bad. Could be better if she ever makes a return to winning.

One thing should have nothing to do with the other. By all indications, they are 2 very different personalities.
Beside Bouchard is way prettier and thus could be more distracted by social media.

Good comment.......malheureusement he lost in 3 sets 7-6. 7-6 and 7-6........si près du but.....but at this level 56 fautes directes is too much......and don't forget he played 7 consecutive games since last week.....that's a lot of tennis...sûrement trop et avec toute cette pression sur lui....ALORS bravo Denis pour ce tennis incroyable et ces bons moments excitants......on te revoit en 2018......CHEERS.

Sharapova is beating Sevastova but grunting and groaning very loudly. Can't they make her wear a muzzle over her mouth to mute these noises?

If Venus Williams wins today, she has the toughest possible road to the finals with possible matches vs. Muguruza in the quarters and Sharapova in the semifinals. The lower half of this draw is definitely tougher. Venus would probably rather be in the top half facing Pliskova and Evitolina.

The feisty Latvian Sevastova has taken the second set from Sharapova. Sevastova does not look remarkably fit to me, but Sharapova called for the trainer at the end of the second set while Sevastova was pumping fists, so Sevastova may get lucky here.

...and the door is wide open for both...i love both.......malheureusement they will PROBABLY play each other in quarters.....and the winner will PROBABLY b the next CHAMPION.....à moins que Pliskova ou Svitolina ne mêle les cartes.

Venus steamrolled Suarez Navarro in the 3rd set. Complete and utter dominance. Don't know what happened in the second set she was hitting a lot of unenforced errors. Venus took it to another level when she had to!

Looks like Muguruza looms next unless she gets knocked out.

..snif snif....my favorite is gone...i knew it would not b an easy match.......KVITOVA was on fire...so powerful.....lot of admiration for her after what she went through recently....a real fighter and SLUGGER.....the only one remaining who could compete with her at this level is PLISKOVA....they could b the ones...

En résumé dure journée....SHAPO--MARIA---MUGU are out...at least STEPHENS and VENUS survived.....for how long.......

Am going to sleep and QUERREY is having great fun.......

Another full day of good tennis.

Nadal and Federer in primetime play.......should move on. Will watch RUBLEV....les experts l'ignorent mais ce kid de 19 ans m'impressionne beaucoup.......vraiment dans le classe de SHAPO et ZVEREV.

PLISKOVA----SVITOLINA--COCO and KEYS play as well.

Fait à noter 5 American girls are still playing....on n'a pas vu ca depuis 15 ans........very good for tennis.
