I discovered Diego Schwartzman this year. Love him, love the fact that he proves that he can compete with the best at only 5'7'' Cool! ;)

wow ....le pas s'accélère......PLISKOVA won in 46 min......NADAL easy easy easy win in 3 sets.....and yes Rublev won also in 3 sets against Goffin classé 9ème...not bad....will play Nadal in quarterfinal.......could he do what Shapo did in Montreal.....not sure BUT we should have a good match.

And now Thiem--another young talented player---is having fun against Del Potro.

Yep agree.....the greatest come back....unreal......what a spectacular and exciting match....and yes Del Potro could say thanks to his fidèles and frénétiques supporteurs.....great great great.

Roger won in 3 sets......and will b frais comme une rose against un Del Potro sûrement vidé physiquement.

Nadal vs Rublev should b interesting to watch.....still a lot of good tennis to come.

And now let's watch Keys--Svitolina.

Greatest comeback ever was Ivan Lendl after going down 2-0 to McEnroe in the 1984 French Open final. McEnroe was the superior talent and should have won the match, but Lendl's supreme fitness enabled him to wear down Johnny Mac after being blitzed the first two sets. This match was similar, but Lendl's comeback came in the finals against a superior player. Let's not forget Del Potro has won the US Open and is a dangerous player in this draw.

Yep! Let's root for Schwartzman. Strange name for an argentinian guy tho! Must be of german or austrian parent.

Would love Coco or Sloane to win this! But I have to admit at 37 what a feat it would be for Venus to win this!

Cheers,

Venus has shown an ability to turn up her level of play a notch when necessary to do so. However she has also shown something that has been a problem throughout her career, which is that she will have long bursts of unforced errors. In her last match she lost the second set not because her opponent was doing anything particularly special, but because Venus was spraying her first serves, and her returns, all over the place. She then regrouped, and in the third set completely overpowered and overwhelmed her opponent. She needs to maintain reasonable consistency on her serve placement and on her returns and not hit these whacky unforced errors that miss line by a lot.

If you watch Kvitova she is forehand dominant and doesn't look like she wants to play off her two handed backhand. Venus needs to attack her backhand ruthlessly

Kvitova looked really tight in the tiebreak.......was kind of surprised she played some really loose shots. Great win for Venus Williams!
