Beautydigger, last I checked, playing sports didn't have anything to do with people's general culture. I don't know how your comments relate to this discussion. You're just acting as a bitter American who think USA is the best.

Sad thing is, I don't know if the answers would have been better here in Canada... My dad was a teacher and he's seen his fair share of weird answers to simple questions...

Makes me think of the shameful segment Rick Mercer did with Goerge W. walking by reporters, when he asked him in a subdued voice what he thought about Canada's then-PM "Jean Poutine" Doubya answered and then was branded as a dummy for not knowing our PM was Jean Chretien. Who knows how many attempts that took, and the fact is Mercer had to cheat to make himself look smart and W. look ... like W. My point is that if you fish long enough you'll find a supposedly representative sample to suit

The point is, sports ARE part of culture, they're a form of entertainment, and though the sports of choice vary, every country has serious sports fans. Look at what the ancient Romans considered sport.

But the people they interviewed looked like surfers, street-performers, red-necks and dumbasses in general. They showed the dumbest rung of society's ladder... If a US university student said those dumbshit... THEN there's a problem.

EDIT: I don't think US is the best country in the world, but the video is meant to entertain and nothing more. Being too serious about sports is more American than European (unless it comes to soccer, then the gloves are OFF). If the Americans pay more attention to education the way the Europeans and Asians do... we won't have all those dumbasses running around.

Sean Hannity does a person in the street interview and he gets the same responses from people. The US has some bright individuals or the US would not be consistently the amongst the leaders in technology, inventions, business, medicine, etc. The US also has its share of dummies. As being Civic minded, a lot of Americans are kind of disinterested. It is why only 30 to 40 percent of eligible voters vote.

The film makers may have edited out any intelligent people they asked questions to.
