I read the news and both my arms dropped, I used to go to the high school Poly Jeunesse in Fabreville on St Rose boulevard, so apparently during a fight between gangs a 15y old stabbed a 17y old on the shoulder. The got the 15y old in custody.

I was wondering what laws they have against this, its a terrible crime even if the 17y old is ok, he could have died.

I remember going to dance at Poly Jeunesse when i was a teen we had fun, so much fun and none of this happen. There were fights but not that many. This is scary what is the world coming too. Even worse in Fabreville nothing ever happens here.

Can someone point me to a serious article explaining the causes of this increase in violent crime among youths in Canada? I know that pandemic lockdowns have had an effect, depriving teens of social contacts during a crucial phase of their development (thereby fostering antisocial behaviour) but surely, there must be something else.

Some are a bit dated, but still applicable.

I was talking to a guy at my age who as a son he is 19, first off he started training and use steroids at 19 and now he's been put on anti depressant. The guy at my job told me that in today's world its normal for teenagers to be on anti depressant.

The world is seriously fuck up today. I work near Olympic statium Hochelaga Maisoneuve were all the crimes usually happen in MTL, i am a night worker but don't go out at night anymore, usually went to Tim Orton's etc. Now i stay in.

During my time online dating i chatted with a lot of single moms, what i notice is lots of them would rather go party and get drunk then raise there kids, a few of them were pissed that it was there week with there kids and they had better things to do.

But there are also gangs, that might be what happen at Poly Jeunesse one gang vs the other gang. But still parents don't raise there kids anymore, a lot of them are spoiled brats.

There needs to be a strong justice system in place so before commiting a crime they will think twice.

A few years back there was a robbery in a depanneur in St Eustache, the guy told the cashier he needed to use the bathroom, cashier let him inside and he got robbed but the police showed up long story short he got shot and killed. Apparently this guy had a huge criminal record, harassement, rape, stealing etc.

Same thing as the man who killed is wife with a hammer, 4y after he is out and allowed by is parol agent to see SP, that was in Quebec a few years back, he manage to kill the SP that night and gave himself up to the police. What the fuck was a man who killed is wife going outside of jail.

With Trudeau catch and release woke stupidity Quebec is heaven for criminals, i really hope this changes. I am getting older and I don't want to live in fear in my own country.

I'll take a look this week-end. Thanks.

From my basic knowledge of psychology (especially evolutionary psychology) I do remember reading that, contrary to popular belief, it is not specifically the absence of a father figure that predicts youth criminality, but rather the clustering of these fatherless households in specific neighborhoods, which contributes to the creation of an environment where youth criminality can emerge.

With respect to the use of firearms, yes. With respect to root causes, no.
Its not gun related its teenagers stabbing other teens. Worse is that the police know were all the gangs are. But apparently there is no place in prison so they need to let some criminals go, even if they are a treat to society.
